    Calculation Question

Let’s say someone that is 100% percent DoD/VA over 20 years active, has a disability retirement, receives CRDP, has a reduction in VA compensation. With the reduction their DoD disability retirement pay is now more than VA compensation. I don’t need an actual calculation but how does that work?

    PEB 19 yrs 11 mo 8 days

That does not count. His basic training was 6 weeks back in August of 1974. I believe his service calculation is off. Could be that is because they did the calculations differently then, but when I look at my DD-214 my basic training is not calculated block 11. It is calculated in block 12c. So...

    PEB 19 yrs 11 mo 8 days

So basically block 11 and 12c should not have the same service time input.

    PEB 19 yrs 11 mo 8 days

This may be a long shot but typically block 11 does not include basic combat training and AIT. I would look back at your old man’s timeline and confirm his dates with any paperwork (I love me book) from back when he went to basic training. (Example: My block 11 says 21 years, 8 months, but it...

What do to about my PCM

Drive on. I would assume your PCM would know the standards as far as medical retention is concerned. Continue to follow up with your medical provider which will allow you to continue to serve this great country and fulfill your obligation. Hopefully your PCM can find a solution to some of your...

Received Retirement Orders | Not Clear About Final Pay

As far as financial benefits I don’t believe there is any, since he will be maxed on pay. A disability retirement offers Tricare rate lock. I do not have anywhere near the time in service but had over 20 years AFS, I am PDRL, and my DD-214 reflects a disability retirement. I’m interested in this...

VA claim not filed by me

Just had a VA claim populate that I did not file. Is this standard for review of past claims? The claim is for one of my rated disabilities. Was curious if this was part of the process to review conditions and or request an updated C&P exam.

Received Retirement Orders | Not Clear About Final Pay

I don’t do calculations, that’s @RonG lane. At 21.5 all active years you will automatically qualify for CRDP. With CRDP you will receive your VA compensation which is tax free and will receive all of your earned DoD pension for 21.5 years. I was in the same situation. I qualified for two...

    Medically retired 100% P&T Healthcare

Correct. I mostly use my Tricare Primary Care Doctor. I use my VA Doctor for my annual physicals, bloodwork, and prescriptions. It’s great to have the ability to cherry pick on certain aspects of medical care, especially if you can save money. The VA is very beneficial and a great complement to...

    Medically retired 100% P&T Healthcare

I agree, I use the VA for my annual physicals. My primary healthcare I use is through Tricare, I have my Tricare doctors linked in with my VA so they all have the same common operating picture. My experience with the VA has been pretty good, with that said all my appointments have been scheduled...

    CRSC Help!!!!

VA does not deal with CRSC. It is your respective branch that receives and processes CRSC requests. Most CRSC information can be found via the internet. If not contact your branch HRC for information and assistance. The MEB is not responsible for scheduling your first VA appointment, you are. I...

100% P and T about to retire, should I ask for MEB

Understood. If it’s been two years of exemptions from PT then it’s seems like a failure on your medical team to submit the necessary paperwork and initiate the MEB. Unless it’s different in the guard. In the situation you described it still is not your choice, and a failure on the part of your...

100% P and T about to retire, should I ask for MEB

Try for an MEB? The Guard must do things differently from the active side, whereas one does not try or has a choice. Most ridiculous thing I’ve heard.

    CRSC- I dont understand!

My advice would be to submit all documentation you have for all your claimed disabilities. I’ve heard of some uncommon conditions get approved. It’s better to try and fail than to not try at all battle buddy!

Received Retirement Orders | Not Clear About Final Pay

Agree with @Provis battle buddy, you don’t need to worry about those calculations because they will be waived in order for you to receive your tax free VA compensation. My comment you refer to is for a service member that has 20 or more years of active federal service, and qualify for two types...
