When to state its only for DOD ratings

What you seem to be referring to is the LDES process. Under IDES, the VA rates your conditions and the Air Force will use the VA rating for your unfitting condition(s) - this will be your DOD rating. But you will still have an overall VA rating separate from your DOD rating. Unless I'm...

Just got my ratings at from the PEB & VA not sure how much I'll be making

Since you're above 20 years, no matter what your DOD% comes back as, you will get your traditional retirement. So standard high 36 retirement (50% of your base pay) + VA compensation. CRSC is something completely different that you must apply for.

I'm guessing your PEBLO's last name begins with a W. If so, she's nice and helpful but yeah I had to call for an update a time or two. The other one, P, is nice as well and knowledgeable but she wasn't my PEBLO so not sure about getting updates. Also, request to speak with AFW2. They're in the...

Just got my ratings at from the PEB & VA not sure how much I'll be making

Since youre over 20 years AD, you will receive your full standard DOD retirement (~50% of your base pay) + VA compensation. What do you mean some will be waived? Hopefully your PEB considers your condition(s) as combat related which. believe will make your retirement tax free.

New Easier to use crsc calculator

Unless you were an O5+ somehow, I don't think your CRSC amount would be anywhere near $3k with under 14 years. To find out what your max would be, first find out how many retirement points you have. Then divide by 360 (retirement points / 360 = AD years). Now multiply your AD years by 2.5% and...

    JBSA MEB/IDES TIMELINE

Shoutout to your damn PEBLO! You accepted your 10% (medical sep) / 80% VA rating and he looked out for you. Now you're going to be medically retiring and a higher VA rating. Great job to him. Congrats to you.

Does the VA Mail you your IDES estimate?

No, your proposed findings will not be mailed to you. Even on the VA site, it says your decision letter is ready to be viewed online (when you're step 5/5). But you will not be able to see this yourself. It is sent to your PEBLO... possibly your MSC so ask them as well. Ive also heard of people...

Do disabled veterans need a 180-day waiver for federal employment?

I'm in the process of being hired after recently retiring (hopefully still... government shutdown). The hiring manager told me that the 180 day rest period can be waived if the position is critical (can't remember the actual term used). Apparently my package had to get a signature from some...

Just Applied For CRSC - Feedback Needed

For purposes of the PEB and your taxes, you are combat related. But those findings will have no bearing on your CRSC determination. Only your branch of service can determine approval or denial. With that said, since the PEB found your injuries as combat related, I'm assuming you have plenty of...

    CRSC Calculation help

Now rereading your original post, I see you mentioned SRB. I thought it said SBP. I'm not sure how and if SRB ties into retirement pay and CRSC to be honest. The above was the estimate I came up with for a standard medical retirement with CRSC approved.

    CRSC Calculation help

No. You are currently receiving VA pay correct? If so, that also means you are currently not receiving your DOD retirement due to you serving less than 20 years (or 15 with Marine tera). If approved, your pay would be $2725 (VA) + $888 (CRSC) = $3613.

    CRSC Calculation help

I'm not the CRSC expert but based on your numbers, I believe your maximum CRSC payment is roughly $888. So aim for 50% CRSC. That number is before SBP, of course. Again, I'm not a pro at CRSC so I'd wait for more answers.

    Adding additional VA claims

I'm sure it happens often. Happened to me. The examiner said I also had an elbow condition that I didn't file for. I got the letter in the mail saying that I could file for it by submitting an additional 256EZ. I already knew I was getting 100% based off my submitted claims. So I ignored putting...

Proposed VA Rating Changes to Sleep Apnea, Tinnitus, PTSD effective when???

Yeah hopefully it works out for vets and the changes makes it easier. But I believe that people think "hey, I have a level 3 rating in all of those categories now, i will definitely get 100% easy" or "I easily have a level 4 rating in at least 1 domain" but we don't actually know how the VA...

Proposed VA Rating Changes to Sleep Apnea, Tinnitus, PTSD effective when???

They’re just proposals for now. Many of these have been proposed for years and juts get kicked down the road further. Once they set an actual date we’ll know more information. As of now the date is unknown (if it will ever even go into effect). But I will say, for the past year or two, people...
