My UC has been unstable for about a year now, flare ups and joint pain. The meds I'm currently on have sort of helped but there's no cure. The biggest thing was it completely clearing up my dermatitis. Are you sort of in the same boat as far as unstable?
Mine started during a deployment that I returned from in October. The mesalamine helps some, but stress makes my stomach hurt and my stomach makes some crazy ass noises lol. I don't think I've had any joint pain, where is that at for you?

Mine also started during deployment, mesalamine did not work for me at all so that's when I started on immunosuppressants. The abdominal pain and cramping is awful so I get that lol. Joint pain pretty much everywhere ankles, knees, elbows and wrists.
Dang, I'm sorry about all the joint pain. Now that I think of it, my ankle (which already sucks because it's falling apart) has been more sensitive recently. Has yours actually kept you from work? I'm not that bad but I don't want to get any worse so I'm hoping my commander will still recommend do not retain.
I got my answer from afpc back last week after 22 business days. They had a back log of 33 days is what i was told, so if yours takes longer don’t stress it!

Yeah, mine included that depending on the backlog it could take 30-60 days. Which could end up being mid December after my IRILO appointment with medical, so they're gonna have to extend me lol
