AMRO Review

7 years AD Air Force. Notified of an AMRO review being done on June 12th, 2025, and that it may take until after the 4-day holiday (4th of July) to hear any sort of decision. Should I reach out to my PCM if I don't hear anything soon or just wait until a phone call from the clinic?

Reason being I have ulcerative colitis and ongoing joint pain. My GI doctor prescribed me rinvoq (immunosuppressant) to treat inflammation and flare ups. So far, it's okay but doc told me I'd be taking this medication indefinitely. From my knowledge this is a disqualifying drug and is deeming me unfit for service?

How long does this process normally take to hear something back? Is anyone else going through something similar?

Every MTF's AMRO board is different. Some bases do the review board once per month, some do it once per week. But keep in mind, sometimes things get rescheduled, backed up, etc.

So I recommend messaging or calling your PCM once every week or 2 weeks to get a status update. But ultimately, it's up to your base's MTF to how fast you'll get the answer back on if you are proceeding forward or not.

Also, keep checking your IMR for your profile (AF469). You should currently have a code 31 applied (temporary medical condition that is expected to resolve within one year). If you get approved to go to the MEB, the AMRO board will change your code to 37 - meaning you are going to be placed in the MEB/PEB.

Appreciate the information. My profile is currently coded 31 (temporary no deployment/PCS) until the board makes a decision.

I will definitely follow up with my PCM after the 4th.
