Applying for Skillbridge while going through a MEB

I have recently been told my a member in my chain of that I couldn't do a Skillbridge while going through the MEB process. Individual stated that once I am found unfit and receive a new separation date that the Air Force would not extend me to fit in skillbridge. However I have read online that I have up to 85 day after I receive my unfit determination to apply for a Skillbridge. Does anyone have any insight on this process?
