Can I still work the same job?

Can I still work the same job, but maybe part time and for me since I’m medical a less stressful area of it if I’m MEB’d?

I assume you mean your military job. If you are medically separated or retired, then you are unfit for duty and are discharged. So no. If you are returned to duty, then yes. The formal PEB board and decision will determine your outcome.

If your tech job is title 5, you will be able to keep it. Title 32, if your found unfit, then you’ll lose your tech job, and qualify for FERS disability retirement, it pays high 3 60% first year and the 40% of high 3 2nd year till you reach retirement age 62.

I don’t mean inside the military. I mean as a civilian can I still work the same job or in the medical field?

I think elsewhere here @johnbgately has advised doctors being medboarded to not work as a civilian doctor at their former Military Treatment Facility; however, I’m not sure why and don’t want to misquote him.

I served as a military doctor for 4 years, but I no longer have the strength. In addition, I see my family too rarely, which is the most difficult thing in my work. I decided to get some new professional skills. I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps and become a technician. HVAC technicians specialize in one field of HVAC.

Of course you can, but if you get the Tech Disability retirement, you can’t surpass 80% of your high 3. If you do you’ll lose your DR benefits. Also, if it’s another government job, you lose your DR benefits.

My father once studied at the university in this specialty, but I took a shorter path. I must learn how to route and install HVAC wiring in today's learning stage. It's easier than treating dozens of military personnel a day. Of course, you can stay in the same job if you have enough time and energy for this. I couldn't.
