Can I still work the same job, but maybe part time and for me since I’m medical a less stressful area of it if I’m MEB’d?
I think elsewhere here @johnbgately has advised doctors being medboarded to not work as a civilian doctor at their former Military Treatment Facility; however, I’m not sure why and don’t want to misquote him.I don’t mean inside the military. I mean as a civilian can I still work the same job or in the medical field?
Of course you can, but if you get the Tech Disability retirement, you can’t surpass 80% of your high 3. If you do you’ll lose your DR benefits. Also, if it’s another government job, you lose your DR benefits.I don’t mean inside the military. I mean as a civilian can I still work the same job or in the medical field?
My father once studied at the university in this specialty, but I took a shorter path. I must learn how to route and install HVAC wiring in today's learning stage. It's easier than treating dozens of military personnel a day. Of course, you can stay in the same job if you have enough time and energy for this. I couldn't.I served as a military doctor for 4 years, but I no longer have the strength. In addition, I see my family too rarely, which is the most difficult thing in my work. I decided to get some new professional skills. I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps and become a technician. HVAC technicians specialize in one field of HVAC.
