Chapter 61 Retirement Question

What was the process to get your orders? Did you go through your PEBLO or unit S1? How far out from your retirement date did you receive your orders?
From what USAPDA told me is that your retirement orders, if your on a COAD, will be cut 120 days out from your retirement date.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm getting paid right I'm a reservist I have a total of eight years of active duty and the rest is reserved time a total of 22 years of service : I MED board hundred 100% . On my exit out of the military high threes. The military stated that I will get 3800 for the rest of my life from the MED board when I turn 60.. I have a letter from defas stating my medical retirement pay. Defas is waiving the 3800 because my VA is higher .I got injured in combat Purple Heart IED . I just turned 60 I'm eligible for my Med retirement. Defas is not agreeing to pay me my medical retirement. They are just paying me my regular retirement. Do to my CRSc is higher than my regular retirement that's what I'm getting paid. I just wanna know if I'm eligible for my medical retirement that was promised to me when I got medical board

Hello,

While receiving just your medical retirement, it is reduced dollar for dollar in the amount of your VA compensation. Some or all of that reduction can be paid to you through CRSC, which requires an application. Contemporary CRSC Information--Also See Update at Bottom of this Resource Page <—-LINK

If you have 20 good years for reserve retirement, you can apply for your reserve retirement as you near the age requirement.
Approval of the reserve retirement will trigger *CRDP* by DFAS if you have a VA rating of 50% or more.
Concurrent Military Retirement Pay and DVA Disability Compensation has replaced the term, “CRDP”.

Entitlement Amount (for Retirees Who Are Entitled to Retired Pay Due to Retirement Under Chapter 61 for Disability):

A military disability retiree with more than 20 years of creditable service for retirement must still waive retired pay in order to receive VA Disability Compensation. The waiver amount is the amount that the military disability retired pay exceeds the amount of military retired pay to which the member would have been entitled to receive if the member had hypothetically been retired under another law (such as the law that permits voluntarily retirement based on longevity/years of service). As a result, the amount of military disability retired pay that a disability retiree may receive concurrently with VA Disability Compensation may be limited. (Disability retirees who retired before December 31, 2013 were also subject to the phase-in described above).
