Just signed my AF form 1185 that the SQ Commander sent me to sign, does this help the MEB process??

Yes, an AF1185 is a requirement for the AF IPEB to consider a case.
You and/or your supervisor probably should've had direct involvement in the completion of that document. Do you agree what is on it? Your commander checked a box that says either "RETAIN" or "DO NOT RETAIN". Do you agree with that selection? The commanders recommendation can tip the scales, and it would be best to have it in your favor.
So my PCM and I have had several discussion which she went over with my SQ Commander and she agreed and basically put how much my job is entitle to have me at 100% percent because my job is hazardous and in confined space so I read what she wrote and signed the form.
And she marked off do not retain also mentioning how long I’ve been on a profile and my restrictions as well which is a long list.
