CRSC Application

Hello,
I am medically retired from the Navy (Jan 2022) at 50% with 100% P&T VA rating. Just found out about the CRSC program and I believe I am eligible for it, based on my combat deployment to Afghanistan as a Corpsman with the Marines (Combat Action Ribbon and NAM for a specific event under fire). I intend to apply based on my diagnosis of PTSD (50%), Allergic Rhinitis (30%) and Tinnitus (10%). I have the following questions:

- Will VA diagnosis/rating letter suffice as medical evidence? I was diagnosed with those while in service, but don't have the in-service medical notes. Have my CAR and NAM write ups and awards.
-When filling out the DD2860, for the Rhinitis is it enough to put down that it is presumptive for the burn pits/PACT?
-Also I am rated 10% for IBS/GERD. Will this also fall under presumptive for PACT?
-What are some most recent timelines to receive your decision from the Navy/USMC board.
-Lastly, can you verify my calculations for the potential CRSC below:

A. Gross Retired Pay: 2071
B. Longevity multiplier: 33% (13 years, 2 months, 18 days)
C. Longevity portion of the retirement: 1279.57
D. zero retired pay remaining
E. 50%+30%+10%=70% CRSC (with spouse)=1804.06

Because 1804.06 is greater than the logentivity, my potential CRSC would be 1279.57.

Thanks.

I can't say with 100% certainty that your VA ratings documentation will suffice for the DON, however, considering what you're putting in for, you have a better chance than many I've worked with since you do have two documented combat-related ribbons which *should* suffice for PTSD at a minimum. For presumptives, yes, along with proof you were in one of the listed combat locations during the time periods noted on the VA's page for Presumptive Conditions. Your calculations look sound, but I'll defer to the expert @RonG for his educated opinion :) Noted below, if you're not already in the group, is a link to my FB CRSC page that you're more than welcome to join where there's a wealth of info to include those who have submitted their packets to DON. The estimated time frame is running several months, unfortunately. I'll my page to see if I can narrow it down somewhat for you when I have the chance.

Good luck!
