Nov 8, 2025 - DFAS received my CRSC approval letter

I'm currently waiting on my CRSC pay statement.

So far the process has been incredibly smooth. I faxed my packet in on a Sunday evening and they texted me first thing Monday morning stating they received my packet. Then, on schedule, they sent me the 60 day email. At 91 days they had it complete, and this was also during the shutdown. I'm honestly impressed.

Congrats. About the 25th check my pay: CRSC tab, should get backpay first then your regular payments should start. Yeah the Army is around 100 days. Be thankful you are not dealing with the navy, be looking at 2027 (aholes).

Thank you! I check MyPay about 25 times per day lol. Yeah, I read about the Navy's timeline and was blown away. I am beyond grateful for the way my MEB/PEB and CRSC have gone so far. VA was the biggest hurdle by far.

I think you will get your backpay before end of month. If they don’t make the cutoff which I think is around the 20th you’ll start getting your regular monthly payment in January. This is based on by experience in August and September.

Same. I went thru meb/peb, got screwed, 10%. Went PDBR like the 2nd year they were up and running and got retroactive retirement 5 years. Then came my decade long VA nightmare. 1 claim, denials, appeals, BVA hearing, remand, and finally full grant with backpay, yeah the VA was a nightmare.
My next VA claim, about a year ago to be exact, 3rd in total in 15 years was easy. 2 pack ACT conditions, exam within 2 weeks. Decision right around day 100. Filed CRSC 2 months later. I was already 100% so I only filed PACT related for CRSC. Was skeptical about CRSC, Colonel Mike quelled my concerns with his insight. VA claims has gotten tremendously better since the bad old days of the 2010s.

My VA experience was leaps and bounds better than the stories I've heard. I didn't mean to imply that it was some nightmare, it was just a much longer process than the other two. I also had a great PEBLO and Legal Council for my MEB/PEB, something I know not everyone is blessed with.

That’s great, I’m glad for most it’s not like it used to be. I think mainly probably with questionable and long shot claims having most of the issues these days.

Since you submitted right before the Aug 20th change, was your effective date backdated to your retired date? Im just curious if they adhered to what was put out.

Yes, my effective date back dated to my retirement date. Very blessed all around with my CRSC experience.

I submitted mine on August 26th, I got my approval on 16 Dec, and my effective date is SEP 2025. I medically retired in 2020...

How was you notified of approval? submitted mines in September
I started checking iPERMS once or twice a week starting around day 90. The shutdown and holidays definitely slowed the process down. You could also call HRC, but they usually can't give you an exact timeline.

How far did they back pay you ?

They went back to the date of my retirement. There was a new rule implemented right after I submitted my CRSC application. Prior to Aug 20th, 2025, I believe, you go back to the date of your retirement, after that and it's the date you submitted your CRSC request.

I submitted on 25 Aug 2025, I can confirm that they only back paid me to the date I submitted my CRSC claim.

Question. Does the CRSC tab only show up once the initial approval has been submitted?
