Checked iPERMS and found my approval letter today! I was approved for a condition that was not on my DD Form 2860, but what i originally claimed was listed under "unable to verify as combat related" even though i provided a memorandum for record from my wartime chain of command (1SG) due to my CAB being "denied, due to reasons" from that deployment. Anyways, I am hoping to touch base with the CRSC reps for some insight... Also, since i claimed on 26 AUG 2025, it looks like it states my CRSC effective date is SEP 25, even though i was medically retired in 2020....

But here is my timeline...

CRSC TIMELINE:
Claim Submitted (VIA Email) - 25 AUG 2025
Claim Received Email from HRC - 26 AUG 2025
60 Day Email - 25 OCT 2025

CRSC Approval Letter in iPERMS (Dated 15 DEC 2025) - 16 DEC 2025

Just waiting on DFAS ...

Thanks to you all in this forum for all the info and help you have provided for not just me, but countless others!

Any way that the gov't can stick it to us vets, they'll find a way. Even though your acceptance date is close, it's not close enough. The 20 August 2025 is a hard date, unfortunately.

Yeah, it is what it is. All i can hope for is that they rescind that memo. I did have a question for you @RetiredColonel-MikeT !

Would you have any insight as to why they would say i did not provide official documentation, when i did provide a Memorandum for record from my wartime 1SG? Just curious.

Odd that they would do that with something from your 1SG, esp since they'd validate their position and call them. If you want, you can PM me the memo, redacted if you so desire.

DFAS paid retro pay: 9 JAN 2026

I still haven't received the letter from DFAS that breaks everything down, but I now see a CRSC pay stub in MyPay. I received retro pay dated back to the date I submitted my claim.

Thanks for the update, this is BS!

They basically skirted the court order that Soto spent years fighting. NVLSP is suing over this. So now they penalize everyone because their BS 6 year limit didn’t stick.

What rubs me is we have to wait on the VA. You have to have a VA rating before you can apply for CRSC.

I spent 10 years waiting and fighting the VA. I literally could not apply for CRSC, or even file new claims, (technically), most new claims will just get rolled into the existing one, and if you’re in the Board of Veterans appeals queue, whelp I waited 1300 days just for the hearing. Took another 18 months to finally completely resolve the claim.

Yup, anyway they can screw the vet they will, thanks DOD - NOT! As much as I hate to say it, I don't have too much hope on the class action suit as they'll just point at the VA and say "they've been doing it already, i.e., the precedent was already set." - writing is on the wall. Even so, I HOPE the suit DOES win and gives DOD a big middle finger.

Quick update, I spoke with a CRSC rep a while back and they went back and reviewed my application. I guess the analyst didn't see the memo i provided from my wartime command. They ended up approving my PTSD claim and made the necessary adjustments. Thank you and thanks to everyone in the forum for all the information and help!
