Sorry to miss you, i am looking forward to meeting up. Hopefully next time our schedules will sync. I received 60% for PACT referred condition for Obstructive Airway Disease/Asthma. Its the same rating I received from the VA for this condition. It is effective May 2019, with finger crossed it could go back to July 2015. I will have to wait see the outcomes to legal decisions.

HRC is already working on these and others, not sure why they were putting only six years back for effective date when, esp in my case, my VA Code Sheet stated July 2015. But they are reviewing ALL cases to ensure the right info is ready for DFAS to process (and subsequently run an audit for more than the six years) the retro pay beyond the barring rule timeframe.

Per HRC: "IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE 6-YEAR BARRING ACT: We are aware of the recent Supreme Court decision regarding the removal of the 6-year barring act from CRSC effective dates. At this time, we are unable to update your CRSC effective dates until the DoD provides formal guidance. We expect this process will take several months, as there is also a companion case (Carey v. United States) currently pending in the Court of Federal Claims. When guidance is received, we will begin to update all affected claims. No further action is required from you; however, please be aware that this process will take time. When your claim has been updated, a copy of the decision letter will be sent to DFAS for processing and a copy will be mailed to you. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause.

FAQ’s: Army intends to update ALL CRSC claims without any action on behalf of the Retiree. Army currently estimates more than 7,000 claims will need to be updated. Expect this to be a fairly lengthy process. Not only will the BOS have to update all decision letters, DFAS will need to audit each individual case to determine what, if any, back pay will be awarded. All claims currently being processed will continue to be barred. These claims are being tracked, and will be updated accordingly, when guidance is received. All questions regarding retroactive payment amounts should be directed to DFAS. We are unable to provide any estimations regarding payment amounts or timeframe for payment. All effective dates will be adjusted to the date of initial eligibility, based on retirement date and date of VA rating."

Do you keep access to Iperms once discharged? Like with a username and password or is your retiree card a CAC? I’m wondering how much access to files I will still have.

My retirement card is not a CAC. However you can use your retirement card with DSLogin to access IPERMS. Once there you can set up email and text notifications fir all new transactions.

User name and password to get into iPERMS, i.e., DS LOGON, so as long as you can get into your DS LOGON, then you're good - here's the link ---> iPERMS RMA

Congrats, my friend! I believe you have a typo on the "Jul 30" line, I'm sure you meant "2025" not "2024" :) Was the rating what you expected? Also, would you mind PM'ing me what your rating is?

Thanks!

Last part of your timeline seems unreal, but maybe not. I filed about two weeks after you and got my approval letter a week after yours. But looks like I may be waiting a bit on pay since I missed the August cutoff. I called DFAS they said the standard 90 days for backpay audit. Hour timeline is promising so who knows, maybe this months pay and backpay a week later hits. I was figuring by end of year sometime it would be settled. So won’t complain especially when things are moving faster. Certainly makes up for my VA claim.

Again thanks for sharing!

When I called DFAS about mine back in late April, they actually told me that it was submitted for audit the same day that they received it (14 April). First payment hit on 01 May, retro pay hit 14 May. Of course, mine was for only 10%, even though retro was still back six years (even though they owed me 10)

The DFAS rep didn’t take my info, and didn’t press. So she didn’t look at anything. I figure if first payment doesn’t hit 1 September I will call.

My letter was dated 25th, I know DFAS monthly cutoff is about a week before end of Month, I probably missed it by a day or 2. Again no problem. I should find out in about 2 weeks what my 1 September situation is. I see the CRSC link on the right of the retiree site, which wasn’t there. I’m only going back about 17 months but at 40%.

Clearly they owe you 4 years. Thinking by end of year Soto should be settled. The VA took about 8 months to figure out how they were going to handle Soto, seemed like a lot more to unpack there such as defining periods of service, periods of eligibility; delimitation dates. I am doubtful the services or DFAS will automatically audit every backpay, even though they probably should. That will probably take congress passing a law.

Since this thread is more active than mine. Backpay hit 16 AUG for me. Still haven’t gotten regular payment. So looks like front pay does not always land as fast as backpay. The Army is doing amazing. The Navy needs to get their ish together.

My 60 day notice was back July 19.

I just checked my IPERMS and found a CRSC approval letter dating back to AUG 21st. (92 days)

I see CRSC in DFAS but there is nothing showing in there.
