So I received my NARSUM, and they sent my case to the PEB for review. I already have VA disability at 40%, but the Army stated on my NARSUM that only 2 of my conditions claimed "don't meet retention standards". Does that mean my DOD percentage will only be for the 2 conditions instead of all claimed, and paid conditions?
Second question- I also saw something on here, as long as you filled out the C&P paperwork for "DOD rating purposes only" I selected the option of "referred through IDES" on the C&P request through the VA 21-526EZ. If I only get 20%, do they dock my disability through the VA until they get it paid back?

First question - your DOD percentage will be based on your unfitting conditions, not all your claimed conditions with the VA. Based on your statement, your DOD% will be based on the 2 conditions.

What about the 2nd question

What about the 2nd question
From what I understand yes, you would get the lump sum at the beginning and then your "full" VA check will come in once that has been paid in full. I would read some documents though, because I have heard there's an exception if you get 100% VA? But that could totally be rumor mill.

So they only take the percent that your rated from the DOD off the VA check?

If you get medically separated at 20% or less, you will usually get some sort of severance. This severance will be entirely recouped by any VA disability compensation you receive. The exception to this is if it's combat coded on your DA199 and there's a blurb on there that states it will not be recouped.
