Edit: Grammar hard.. here***

Also, for those wondering how I know when my VA Exams were released, i just happened to call me PEBLO the day she said she received them.

Am I just waiting to get my DA 199 now? How soon can I submit my leave upon receiving the DA 199?

You can go to tricare online via your DS login and look up your DBQ's for all of your VA exams in the meantime. They will be in the documents section. That way you can get an idea of your ratings for each condition based on what the DBQ's say verses the VA disability percentages per condition guidelines.

As far as leave goes, after you get your DA199 your installation will contact you with a NLT than date. That is the date you can use to calculate your leave. I submitted my leave form for signatures the same day I signed my DA199.

Thank you! Will check that out.

Does that mean you were contacted the same day you received your 199? Or did you pre-emptively send up your leave form? Thanks for the response.

I was just lucky, i signed my DA199 and about 3 hours later garrison contacted me. My PEBLO said that could be between a few hours or a few days, depending on who is working at the installation office.

UPDATE

05/30/2023: Received and signed DA 199. 70% DOD / 80% VA

I don't remember feeling this happy in a very long time.

PEBLO informed me to anticipate orders within two weeks.
I'm glad it worked out for you and you're on your way!

Quick question: in your original post, you mentioned "no approving signature within 30 days." Do you mean the second signature? I'm closing in fast on 30 days myself. Who caught the 30 day resubmission requirement? You? Your PCM?

Thank you! and yes it was the second signature. I never found where, in writing, that it states they have 30 days to sign the second signature. But, evidently its a rule, because on the 29th day I went to my hospital, spoke with the approving official about my not having a second signature and on the next day I had two new signatures.

Other than the appointments at the VA did the medical board require any additional appointments? Was this a duty related med board or Non Duty Related Board?

Non-Duty related medboard and as far as I remember, the only physical appointments I had were for my exams. The only other “appointments” so to speak that I’ve had to attend in person are with transitions and finance. All of which happen after you get your da 199.

I literally just started the process on June 2 for Spondylitis and the medication im on. I didnt realize you get a dod and va rating with a ND-PEB. i submitted a va claim before i knew i was getting med boarded for the condition and have my VA exam next week. I am beyond stressed.
