Hello

how are you doing I am in need of advice I was injured in Iraq from when our convoy crashed from after math of an IED explosion I was then sent to Brooke army Medical center for TBI and memory loss had my first surgery and for rehab I started to become More ill also blood pressure uncontrolled dislocated sternum nose was broken

I was an E-5 I had went to ALC a year or two prior I received orders to BNOC school but off course was canceled from being hospitalized in the WTU I was told that I was promotable to E-6 by time in service and time in grade I was in the WTU my case manager wasn’t listening they instead of putting me in for med board they found me fit for duty but I was still Very sick they sent me to ft Meade under joint command of the air force as a special duty assignment and to finish healing

long story short my TBI continued to get worse my blood pressure never got controlled then I went into stage III kidney disease started having trouble with my heart had another surgery from the injury sustained in Iraq the joint command unit was told to send me back to the WTU but instead they ETSd me out

I contacted the Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed spoke with a Colonel he said there was no way as sick as you were the army should have discharged you they should have put you in for Med-board especially with the diagnosis of my kidneys and he said that unfortunately the Army failed you and on behalf of the U.S Army I am sorry but no one is going to put their rank on the line and congress is not going to bring you back in

I wrote to the Army Review Board I wrote to congress showed them all that had happened no help now I’m currently working with a group trying to fight for an upgrade discharge

is it impossible to win this case and since I was told I was promotable to E -6 by time and service and time in grade if the case can be won would I be able to fight for rank upgrade to E-6 I was in the burn pits also I now have COPD a tumor in my left leg the kidney disease everything that was listed on my active Duty medical records I have became very sickly but I don’t want to give up hope that this can be fixed and what I fought for to be received

thank you kindly

I do not know much about any of this as I am new to the MEB process. I do think if you have not already find an attorney. I don't really have any other advice. I hope someone with more knowledge sees this soon and is able to assist you.

Hello @Rj84

It appears that a correction to military records is your goal.

See this LINK <—- for info and paths to application information.

Good luck,
Ron

Hello,

Just an opinion and recommendation: Instead of a letter, you might consider a formal application. Your situation will not be considered for correction without an application, irrespective of how compelling your narrative is presented.

A veterans service organization might be of help.
