IDES question

Hello,
my wife was AD AF for 24 years. She recently went through IDES and received a proposed rating of 100% disability while she was still in. She just retired on 13 Aug 2021. I called the VA and asked when we might can expect a decision letter but he let me know that the system just auto-populated a message saying my wife decision has closed. Her claim actually went back to Evidence gathering, review, and decision the day after her retirement date. He had told me that since she was retiring, the IDES stopped and it was sent as a normal VA disability channel. I am just wondering from people that have had this happen the following things:
Did your final VA rating reflect the same thing that the VA had proposed during the IDES process?
How long after retirement was the final decision made?

thank you in advance for any assistance!!

Did you get any answers to this outside of this forum?

Its supposed to be 30 days out from retirement to get your "final ratings". I have my retirement date of OCT 2 2021. If you did find anything out please let us know.

Paramount, first of all, congrats on your upcoming retirement! i Believe it is normally 30 days after. But, we are currently buying a house and possibly needed to show the extra disability income to qualify for the loan. BTW, buying a house in this market truly sucks…lol. Anyways, a week ago she spoke with the VA person locally that she had been dealing with and asked if the decision could be made quicker due to our mortgage conundrum. I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic she did but the letter was posted on the VA or ebenefits website showing she will receive the same as was proposed back in December. So, basically she got her decision around the 26 day mark after retirement. hopefully This info helps you out.

That is awesome! Good information for everyone as well. Congratulations to you and I hope your home purchasing goes well.
