Sorry to hear about your PEBLO. I have had a "mid" experience with mine too. But, you have to remember they are part of the system. Any updates?
Heard back from my PEBLO and she apologized. She asked me not to contact her for updates as she has become responsible for 4 times the amount of cases she normally handles. DOGE cutbacks have severely interrupted the pace of the IDES system and she expressed serious concern for the future. She remembers a time when Medboards took 3 years, and she thinks it is headed back that direction. She told me that most all of the appeal lawyers have been laid off, which means the appeals process may be axed altogether. Just one PEBLO's perspective, but still concerning for those still in the process.
17 January 2025 - P3 profile put in place, initiated in JBLM, WA
17 January 2025 - Provider submitted referral to IDES to begin medboard process.
20 February 2025 - Second Signature
21 February 2025 - Received emails from my PEBLO and IDES Contact Coordinator. Filled out several documents and sent back.
25 February 2025 - Initial IDES brief (about 3 hours covering all aspects of the process).
25 February 2025 - Initial counseling with PEBLO
04 March 2025 - VMSC meeting and claims submitted. Expect to hear from VA Exam contractors within 7 days.
10 March 2025 - Contacted by QTC Contractor. Scheduled 6 exams between 12-19 March. Most was local, but had to drive 1.5 hours away for a sleep study.
20 March 2025 - VA Exams complete.
31 March 2025 - Final DBQ uploaded to Tricare Online (If you don't know, you have access to these well before your DA 199 arrives. You can look through them and get a pretty accurate estimate of your final ratings)
01 April 2025 - Contacted by NARSUM doctor, said he would add a second unfitting condition if I was okay with it. I told him yes and to go ahead.
04 April 2025 - NARSUM completed
07 April 2025 - Reviewed with legal. Signed "Concur" and submitted to PEB.
16 June 2025 - Case Closed on VA App
17 June 2025 - PEBLO called me with ratings (100% VA, 60% DOD)
18 June 2025 - Concurred with PEB findings and submit for retirement orders.
