Been dealing with low back pain for over a year now. X-ray and MRI show DDD, foraminal stenosis and a couple other thing. To make a long story short my PCM referred me to a MEB today but she reissued me a temporary profile and it stated “SM referred to MEB”. My question is can a MEB be initiated with a temporary profile? I thought I had to have a permanent first? Or is it something that happens at the same time? Also I have been on profile for 8 straight months for my back. No running, rucking or wear of gear.

It's temporary but you should get a permanent one soon. It's the start of the process. A P3 is what starts the MEB. Your PCM just has to now work on the paperwork.
