Hello, I started the MEB process about a month and a half ago. Prior to that I had a visit to an outpatient program where I was noted to be manic and was admitted to an inpatient facility and placed on mood stabilizers and anti-psychotics which helped a lot. during my 18 days there, I was diagnosed as bipolar. I was then sent back to the same outpatient facility who corroborated the diagnosis. I did 6 weeks with the outpatient facility. I had an assessment done with the MHC on base who also diagnosed me with bipolar disorder and began the MEB process. The stage I am at now is the Commanders Impact Statement. A question I have is that I’ve never worked on the flightline with the commander so it seems that his insight to my situation will be limited. Will the commander reach out to my leadership for more information? That would be ideal as they would have a much better understanding.
