Now I’m just waiting on the DOD rating and for them to send it back to my PEBLO. Does anyone know how long it’s taking nowadays to get your findings back from the date that your VA claim closes ?

Marine here, claim closed on the 28th of May and I'm still waiting. Legend Jeff at the Naval PEB let several of us know it should be coming back this week, but nothing is guaranteed.

If it's this week or next week I guess the average would be 3-4 weeks being generous.

Are you also at Walter Reed ?

Nope I'm at Camp Lejeune but once you're at the PEB you're in the same line as us!
Okay, thank you. Hopefully, we hear something this week but if not hopefully before the end of June. This whole process has been irritating and Im just ready for it to be done with.

I hear you man. Maybe give Jeff a call tomorrow just to hear it from the horse's mouth. You're past the bulk of it so hold it together.

He's a figurehead for the Naval PEB representing the Marines and the Navy. His number is listed on the directory for the PEB, here's his number: (571) 442-0592

Best time to call as someone else mentioned is 9 AM eastern. Gotta be somewhat persistent in calling him as I'm sure you can imagine he's a busy guy.

Hey there! I'm currently in the middle of a medboard at Walter Reed. I completed my VA C&P Exams as of May 9th and I just spoke to my MSC last Wednesday and he informed me that he has sent my exams over to the DOD so that they can draft my NARSUM, my question is based off what the both you are saying, I guess it's possible to have the VA email you your proposed VA ratings before the PEB has concluded?

Yeah it's possible. I happened to call them when they were still working on things and they began their decision process on the 17th of May, I called on the 21st. They sent me over the complete decision letter with a deferred condition in an email. After that, on the 28th my claim closed on the VA tracker. I noticed there were new files attached upon the claim closing, and the files sent to me on the 21st had directions for the rating team so I was certainly not meant to see that, so I called to receive them. All it was was a letter saying I am being proposed to have 100% VA disability and it thanked me for my sacrifice, with a separate letter stating I should submit a claim for scars I didn't previously claim.

After you sign your package and elect to submit your personal statement, request IMR, etc. that's when you wanna start hitting up the VA for updates, your PEBLO will likely be the one to forward your package rather than your MSC.

Ok copy, yea my PEBLO literally just emailed me and said that we are still waiting for my NARSUM to be written. I guess all I can do now is simply wait for the NARSUM to be produced.

Yes, once it says that your Va claim has closed on the VA website then I would give it a day and then call the VA and ask them to email you your proposed rating, but it will only say what the Va will rate you. You won’t get the DOD rating until you get your findings back.

Good advice. I called day of and the letter was dated for the day after lol. Obviously couldn't justify sending out a future dated letter to anybody.

OK nice, so then it is possible to see your proposed ratings from the VA before your NARSUM is drafted from for the PEB ?

No you won’t be able to see your proposed ratings before you get your Narsum, only after your claim closes.
