When the VA MSC contacted me, I did the paperwork with them and there’s a box on there you elect to take VA pay.

I’m definitely getting the runaround from everyone then. My VA MSC says he has nothing to do with having me elect which pay to receive. He told me that my PEBLO has the paperwork for that. I talked to my PEBLO and she said that she doesn’t have any paperwork regarding it either. I have no idea what to do at this point.
The application you filled out for IDES that the MSC helped you with has a box you leave unchecked to receive VA compensation that will offset your pension. I think its box 26. So unless you checked that box you will get VA compensation and it will offset your pension. If you did check that box then you would just get your DOD% and NO VA compensation. I haven't ever seen a case where you come out ahead not accepting VA compensation. My wife has her pension exempt from federal taxes and she still accepted VA compensation because she will qualify for CRSC and you need to have VA compensation to get CRSC.
Do you remember how long it took to get your ratings once VA stated they were done with your claims? Mine closed yesterday. Tried to call today and see if someone would tell me my rating without specifically asking. Also, how long after they closed your claims did your PEBLO reach out, and you got orders? They said something was mailed for me to sign, not sure if you had the something or not.
I filled this out and sent it in to the VA (or gave it to my VSO while on terminal, can’t remember) to be added to my file. My MSC, PEBLO, and AF Wounder Warrior rep were clueless as well but I figured I’d cover my ass. I had no issues concerning receiving the proper pay when out.
how do you know the VA closed your claims. i have done the c & p exams and I'm not scheduled anymore. does that mean they are closed? I did get a paper that told me to show my PCM for asthma maybe? not sure.
I'm missing my general c&p exam on my Tricare online. I'm assuming that's why my peblo hasn't got anything back from the VA to build my package. I think they are still gathering my claims and going over that general exam. Thank you for the information! The waiting is the worst part.
I had to call LHI/OPTUM to have them push my exam through after 45 days. I'm not sure if they are the ones who did your exam, but if they are I'd give them a call.
Yes they are the same ones who did my exam it hasn't been 45 days yet. I will definitely call them though I'm almost at 45 days. Thank you for that information.
