Navy MHS Gensis medical documents No where to be found.

Hey guys I am in a pretty bad situation. I need to get my documentation for my jaw injury that I have been getting treated at dental but in both my tri care online and MHS gensis there is nothing mentioning my jaw injury at all. It says I went to dental on certain days and that’s it. I have been prescribed many medications and been treated for a while. The dentist seem to have all the info on my condition but I can’t find any of it at all and I have searched very hard. Without it I can’t claim anything with the va. My time is running up if anyone know how I can get this info while I’m active duty. please let me know thanks.

If the medical records for the specifics are not found by your dentist you can have them write a letter summarizing the injury, treatment and dates you went to him. That should be good enough for service connection. Also wouldn't hurt to have buddy letter from someone in the military's that witnessed your injury or knows you well and can attest to how the injury happened while on active duty.

How do I go about doing this while I’m active duty. I’ve seen multiple dentist but all at the same naval dental clinic

Just go there and ask. It's a lot easier if they were civilians dentist but be persistent cuz you should be able to have your records and if not then they should be willing to write a letter for you.

They are all active duty navy. They are not the best dental clinic but I guess I’ll try asking the front desk

For the Army, dental records are (were) in a separate system than medical records. Some were hand written in the file they keep at the clinic, but they transitioned to electronic records in the last few years I was in. Just go to the front desk and request a copy of your dental records. I had to submit them separately to show my TMD.
