I get it you not the person. My wounded warrior case manager said I still have like 6 months left. Iv done lots and lots of research and I just want to remain optimistic that I can retire at the end of March. I believe it should go faster based off the new system and my VA exams being completed but who knows. I wish we could see where it is at in the PEB process like why can’t we track it like we can track USPS, UPS, FedEx packages? Or even like we can track our VA claims. We are just left in the dark
I know navy vs air force timelines can be different, especially depending on the complexity of your case. but maybe i might be able to provide a glimmer of hope, i was sent to the VA for ratings on 25 november, ratings were done 9 december and now as of today my PEBLO has everything i am just waiting for him to call me to sign findings. the entire MEB process across all branches is ridiculously slow and the shutdown didnt help matters but ive talked to other air force members and it looks like things are starting to pick up the pace and hopefully that follows suit across all branches.

Does anyone recommend reaching out to the PEB directly to see where their case is? And see if they can provide rough estimates? Or would they not appreciate that?
I'm very hesitant to do this as well. I can't imagine they'd like to hear from the service member directly and not the PEBLO. FWIW, people have reached out to Jeff at the PEB and got answers.
Since your retirement, the PEB has undergone a complete system upgrade that downed it for 4 weeks. On top of that, a 42 day government shutdown. Any regular timeframe can essentially be thrown out of the window. The USN/USMC PEB is more backed up today than perhaps ever before. Me and a handful of others submitted in June / July and have yet to hear back with findings. It's just a mess

It streamlines a bunch of the post PEB stage processes. Specifically with dd214 drafts and orders. The issue was it was supposed to take 2 weeks, and took over a month. And I heard it was glitchy when it first came online. Regardless, things seem to moving again. So that's good I guess. Anyone going through the MEB right now has waited way way way longer than normal.
My PEBLO gave me this update! “I checked into the PEB’s system, looks like the proposed VA rating is complete and they’re working on the DOD side. I’m still leaning a bit more towards 3ish month timeline for findings. I did receive a handful of findings back this week of cases I sent to the PEB 11/20-11/25.”
With those cases getting findings back and with my case submitted Dec 9th, in theory I should get mine back at the end of January.
I just checked my MNCC service request and I know have the message of “Notification of processing-Sailor pending PDRL, TDRL, or SEPSEV! I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
