Question about P&T

Hey ya'll.

First off, found this forum wayyy too late. Just finished my MEB and was found 100VA/70DOD, PDLR. I was told I am not P&T due to a required reevaluation at 6 months post exit. I was boarded for PTSD/Bipolar.

My question is, if I am rated the same for PTSD (70%), will I be given P&T?

Thank you all.

It depends. P&T means your condition is unlikely to improve. If the reevaluation determines that there is still room for improvement they could still withhold P&T. Just keep going to any mental health appointments until the reevaluation, save all records and the like. Common issue I see is people brush off the appointments because they aren't helping and then go for the re-eval only to get kicked down or taken away completely because the evidence of record showed you didn't need treatment. I am not sure how many times they reevaluate till its considered unlikely to improve. Lots of variables to this as well.

Agree with FatherTime. Continue appointments and create a paper trail showing those visits.

Just wanted to also mention, while it would not be good to lose 100% VA, the DoD PDRL of 70% means at least financially you can fall further than that. And if eligible CRSC could make up some of that as well.

If your condition is stable at 6 month mark then the VA could make that condition static. If that condition is the only one that wasn't static then at that point you could get P&T. My wife continued to seek mental health treatment with the VA after she got out and a few months after that she was reevaluated by the VA and awarded P&T since mental health was the only condition that wasn't static. I was like duh... All of her mental health stressors are from having chronic illnesses. Kinda a no brainer but they have a process that the VA must follow.

That’s odd you didn’t get P&T out of the gate being TDRL, i was in the same boat and got it

I am tdrl 80% dod 100% va PTSD 70% and cervicalgia 20%. Has anyone actually been able to go back to service if they make improvements? If so how does it work?

It's a crucial distinction that a P&T rating signifies the unlikelihood of improvement, not necessarily the complete absence of any potential for change. So, as you said, if the reevaluation suggests there's still a path forward, they might indeed hold off on granting P&T.

I have 80% TDRL, 100% DOD, 70% PTSD, and 20% cervicalgia. After making changes, has anyone ever been able to return to service? Could you please explain how it works, if that exists?

Its super rare. You have to be found fit. Then you don't get to just go back in. You have to do the MEPS all over again. Most don't qualify anymore medically due to other health issues. So its best to try to get your TDRL to convert to PDRL by keeping everything stable and try to keep your DOD% at 30% total or higher. Trying to get back in would be a mistake for 99% of the Soldiers out there who are TDRL.

How would that work for someone who is found unfit due to mental health (Bipolar) and is taking lithium... but also has degenerative spine conditions? As far as TDRL vs PDRL

I was just catching up with my cousin in Melbourne last week when he showed me a platform he's been using. I decided to try my luck with the royal reels setup after hearing him rave about it. I was instantly hooked by the smooth layout and the variety of digital slot games. The seamless banking options made it incredibly easy to manage my funds, and I walked away with a decent payout that made my weekend down under completely stress-free.
