I just had my call with the VA since my EAS and the rep told me I was 40% DOD but on my DD214 it says 20%. Anyone have some insight on this? The rep only left me with more questions.

I am certainly not the authority on this, but maybe the 40% is the VA rating and the 20% is the DoD rating? I would contact the VA directly via app, website, or 1000 phone number and ask them what your rating is. You should be able to pull your letter from the website or app as well.

I am waiting on my VA case worker to do her research but I did call my Peblo supervisor who looked in the system and she said DOD on her side is still showing that the 20%.

Your ratings are subject to change pending a second review of your records. Have you gotten your final award letter, and if so, does it state that your boarded condition is in fact 20% rather than 40%?

I’m still waiting on my VA award letter. I only have my proposed VA ratings and the DD214 stating DOD is 20%.

Do you mind saying what the referred condition was? Within my proposal period I had a 30% rating for IBS due to chronic diarrhea, then the proposal had changed to 0% due to the ratings schedule changing. Curious if something similar may have happened for your referred condition.

It's also possible the VA made the judgement that your referred condition was pre-existing but aggravated by service.

I had two shoulder surgeries from an injury. Basically took a chunk out my collarbone and it now floats.

If I was you I would look over everything regarding that condition's DBQ and also review the decision letter given to you when you signed off on the PEB findings. After that cross reference your findings on the DBQ with the associated and referenced CFR on the decision letter and check if there was an error on your initial rating.

I'm assuming you went through the full process of retirement so I'm surprised.

Got my PEB findings back a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm nervous that my DoD and VA proposed ratings could change. The VA rater f'd up on several of my claims saying that "service connection disability rating is not proposed because there is no clinical diagnosis for X" and yet I submitted supplemental evidence along with my NARSUM rebuttal (to my C&P exam where the examiner admitted to not receiving the full medical record from the VA, and said in my DBQ that he searched for keywords and if weren't found marked "no medical diagnosis") that CLEARLY SHOWS that I was, in fact, diagnosed with X condition. Wtf?

I found out that it was a typo and my DOD did not change. I was told they don’t change without a DD215.

Here's to hoping that my proposed VA rating (100%) doesn't change either. Though I'm still bugging over the rater not getting the rest of my SCDs right.

I’m happy to hear the error was resolved.
