VA rating increased from 80 to 90 but I don’t receive any extra money.

Va increased while DoD decreased to offset each other. CRSC has remained the same.

This doesn’t seem right.

Please help.

There is a cap on how much you can get for CRSC and it has to do with your longevity. If you hit that cap then any increase in VA and or CRSC won't result in an increase in net pay.

Youshould save a little in income taxes due to getting more VA pay which is tax free.

My cap for CRSC should be around $2300. It is currently at $1665.

My VA increased but my CRSC did not what you are saying makes it sound like I will not get a raise when the VA rate goes up at the end of the year because I met my cap?

The cap is the amount of your longevity for CRSC. So for example if your high 3 was $2,000 and your were in for 10 years at 2.5% per year then the most you could get for CRSC is $500 ($2,000 x 25% = $500) That cap is because CRSC is restoring the amount of the VA offset to your pension. In this case the entire $500 was offset by accepting VA compensation and if awarded CRSC is the maximum amount you can get. This is what happened to you so you are maxed out on CRSC benefits regardless of a VA% increase for a CRSC approved condition.

One other note if your chapter 61 medical pension is a lot higher than your longevity the harder it is to get any CRSC. My wife earned 42% towards longevity but her DOD% was maxed at 75%. So her max CRSC amount with 100% VA rating is only about $1,200. That is the most she can get. Anything over that amount won't be paid out for CRSC because it will exceed the total amount of her longevity + total VA compensation.

Ok. Thanks for the help!
