Retirement points

I couldn't figure out where to post these questions i hope someone can answer. My hubby is in the process of MEB, we were told that almost five years of his reserve time is not countable toward retirement because he didn't have a minimum of 50 points for those years. Can someone shed some light on this??

I have dug up all his orders, and LES statements and am trying to figure out the correct points for each year, all his LES say UTA then a number then IDT and numbers all his LES statements of IDT are different and always higher than on his record. Can someone please tell me how these are counted toward retirement points.

THANKS SO MUCH

Hello again. He can log onto his AKO account and about half way down should be something that says "OMPF Reserve" under Army Links or something like that. Once he goes in there, he can click on the left side where it says it says "reserve record". After this he can click on the ARPC Form 249-2-E under the navigation pane on the left side. This will take you to a form that will show all the accountable time for his reserve time. You can also go into retirement points and it will have every point accounted for and dates as to when he received credit so you can figure out what was missing.

On the Army Reserve side, you have "good" years and in order to get a good year you have to have acquired 50 points which equates to going to drill every month or making it up. Hope this helps a little. I had to fix mine because of my active time that I had was not showing.

Thanks MAMA we had already downloaded this. Of course it's WRONG, missing lots of time. How do they count a drill weekend? His les shows three points for every drill day. Also, Do they give more points for MOS school, AD orders, Training for AD higher than idt? He has lots of school time, war time, and training time, he also trained troops for deployment is this higher. All his Iraq time was paid as ADT which I thought was wrong. Thanks sooo much.

mascabn,
A UTA is one 4 hour drill period. On a normal weekend Sat/Sun you wld receive 4 points. If u drill Friday evening then you get another point. Points can be accrued in the following ways:
• One point for each day served on active duty in any status to a maximum of 365 per year (366 in a leap year).
• One point for every unit training assembly or drill. Reservists normally get four or five points for a reserve weekend, depending on when it starts (i.e, Friday night or Saturday morning.) Two points are the maximum for any calendar day.
• One point for each day for military funeral honors.
• One point is given for every three hours of nonresident instruction or correspondence courses that are documented as successfully completed.
• Fifteen points are given each year as “membership points” to each reservist for being in a reserve status.

So a normal training year of 12 drills wld provide 48 points, a two week annual training wld provide 13 to 15 points and membership wld provide 15 points. This would easily make for a "good year" of 50 points. Also, at least once a year each unit is required to review to individual' points sateement and the individual signs it. Perhaps his unit can provide this information. I hope this helps.

Thank you, I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, they did not go through the points anually. We'll have to see what we can do at the unit to get it fixed.

I hope the unit can assist you. It is pretty hard to not get a good year (50 points or more) unless you are in a non drilling status or miss a lot of unit assemblies and an annual training event. Good luck.
