Separation Message??

Hey yall,
I'm getting very stressed about not having a separation message yet. I have lost out on a job and I will not be making the first day of classes for fall semester. I accepted my findings 27JUNE2023 and have not received anything. I have emailed the disability inbox email and they basically told me "WHO KNOWS WHEN THE PEB WILL SEND YOUR INDEX OVER BUT WHEN THEY DO ITLL TAKE US 3!!!! WEEEKS TO SEND YOUR SEPARATION MESSAGE" this doesn't seem right from everything i've read. Basically I have no way of establishing anything for myself once I'm out. also my lease ends here next month so i'm stressed. What should I do next?
 
It sounds like the Navy/USMC PEB is backed up a bit. I’ve seen people on here saying they’re at several weeks from their proposed VA ratings and still no word about accepting findings from the PEB.

I just got my VA ratings yesterday, so hoping to hear official word in the next 2 weeks re: the PEB.

But I’m in the same boat. Our house went on the market and I’m interviewing expecting I’ll be done by Nov 1.

I'm sitting on week 6, but the CRAZY part is that people who signed their findings the same day as me and even after have already received their message. I am so lost and I cant get answers.

You might be able to answer this question for me, I just got my VA letter today, so I believe they just sent my stuff back to the PEB, any idea how long it took you for the PEB to send findings to your PEBLO?
 
Lately, PEB has been taking 2-4 weeks from the day the PEBLO returns signed findings from the member, to forward findings to NPC on the PEB Index. The separation message typically comes out within 48-72 hours of receipt of the Index. The time to separation is between 36 and 61 days from the date of the PEB Index.

If it's been 6 weeks, 9 times out of 10, the issue is with the command not getting message traffic. Make sure they are looking in the CUI subfolder. Instructions on how to properly set up message traffic for CUI messages can be found in ALCOM 007/23, released earlier this year, February timeframe.
 
@malibuT @PERS-95 is 100% correct. Be sure to stay on top of this. I currently have a case wherein the command didn't get the message, the member said something after 12 weeks of waiting, and now the command is trying to backdate his separation orders to get him out not more than a week after all this was discovered.

I am not trying to scare you, but never in my wildest imagination would I have thought a command would try to separate someone so quickly by doing something to blatantly unethical. This is more common, if you can imagine it happening even once, in the Reserves.

@PERS-95 @JoelPettit My command rep got an email back today from PERS saying that they have nothing for me and to contact my PEBLO and ask the status of the PEB releasing my index. Idk what is happening and I’m honestly just so defeated at this point. I called my PEBLO twice, no answer. I just can’t seem to get any information.

That's because PERS can't see into PEBcs internal processes, and there's no warning when an Index will arrive. It just happens when it happens.

Got an update! Apparently my FPEB attorney didn’t send over some paperwork and it’s hindered the PEB sending over the index and now they are tracking it closely! I knew something was up.

I promise you that the internal processing of the physical evaluation board and the disability evaluation system are not taught in legal school. It is completely ojt. And that is one reason why people who hire civilian lawyers who have no experience with the disability evaluation system often find themselves at a disadvantage, because the lawyers treat it like a trial or some other proceeding, and it is absolutely unique, and they don't know the details and they don't understand all the individual steps, and they miss things. Seen it time and time again.
 
This is true, it is very different. I’m just glad I have answers now because it was driving me insane! There is hope lol
