Still apply for CRSC?

Should I still apply for CRSC? I’m retired and receiving CRDP. In my post retirement checklist it says to apply for CRSC. Would there be a benefit to applying for CRSC? I understand the tax exemption with combat related disabilities. What other benefits are there? Is it generally good practice to apply and get disabilities on record? Hopefully I’m explaining my question well enough.

Probably for you the potential benefits relates to net income with the tax exemption if you get a high enough percentage.

CRSC might help you get a better net result than CRDP. DFAS will choose what is best so it doesn't hurt to apply. You can't get less by applying for it. You can only get one or the other but you can switch your election annually.
