TDRL Reeval Question

Hello everyone,

I was recently rated 90% DOD and 100% PT for the VA .

My DOD conditions consist of
70% PTSD(unstable)
50% of 3 other conditions (stable)

My medboard lawyer told me I'd be reevaluated at 6 months but he said it will ONLY be for the unstable condition. Is this true? Or will the other ones also be reevaluated?

Also he said if the DOD lowers my rating for the unstable condition the VA could also lower it. Is this true? I thought PT was pretty much permanent.

Thank you so much for any advice.

Yes only unstable conditions. If you have 50% PDRL conditions you are guaranteed to stay PDRL.

However, see counseling at the VA because its easier for your TDRL review as your branch can check you out often without an exam.

Main advice is to continue to seek treatment and reach out to your TDRL contact after 12 months if you don't hear anything from them. Its best to keep everything the same and try to get that last condition changed from TDRL to PDRL ASAP.

The reason your attorney said the VA can lower it is there being TDRL the VA is forced to review your condition and so its possible they change your % too. That's why its best to just keep everything the same and continue to seek treatment. This is one of the rare times where your P&T is in jeopardy. However, its very easy to keep the % the same just by continuing to take medication and seek counseling.
