terminal leave and medical retirement

how does terminal work with medical retirement?
say i sign all of my paperwork on 1 oct 22, and i have 90 days of terminal. does the terminal push my retirement date out those 90 days? thank you.

For the Army you can push out your retirement date. Not sure about other branches. For the Army a medical retirement with more leave than you can use for terminal leave is grounds to extend your retirement date to allow you to use all of your leave for terminal leave. My wife was able to get the date pushed back 2 additional months
