Here is my timeline in hopes that we can support each other in this process!
I was referred for 5 conditions (Fibromyalgia, Migraines, IBS, Bilateral plantar fasciitis, and Left wrist pain)

Code 37 applied: 21 Dec 2023
NARSUM sent to AFPC: 9 Feb 2024
"Proceed with full MEB"/FL-4: 23 Feb 2024

Currently I have finished the SHA paperwork and have submitted an ETP for SkillBridge. I have not heard from a MSC yet.

Have you had your appointments yet? I’m curious how you have your fl-4 already. I have my exams next week and have not heard about my fl-4 . I’m in San Antonio

Though we use MHS Genesis now, check your Tricare online, go to health records, scroll down and select FL4 document (assuming its uploaded)

I have not had any C&P exams yet. My FL-4 was generated the day my PEBLO informed me of "proceed with full MEB". I would ask your PEBLO. It is basically a 1 page document that has the diagnostic codes of the conditions you were referred for. I believe other branches conduct MEBs in different orders. So if you are not Air Force that would be why.

C&P exams scheduled!

5 Apr 24 - General medical - took about 3.5 hours at Optum Serve in San Antonio, TX. (I think it went well! I'm glad I got it out of the way.)
12 Apr 24 - Mental Health
16 Apr 24 - Audio
8 May 24 - Vision (I am calling every so often to see if this appointment can be sooner. The receptionist at the exam location told me they will usually budge if you try enough times. lol)

When did you coordinate with the MSC? Your timeline went from 23 Feb to 5 Apr with nothing?

Typically this happens immediately after the PEBLO tells you you’re being MEB’d and of course before any exams.

My MSC contacted me 22 March. I emailed my PEBLO about a week before that saying I had not been contacted yet. Apparently there was something that had to be done on medicals end still. However, my FL-4 date did not change.

It is correct that contact with a MSC should happen immediately as they only have 5 days to contact you and submit your claims.

I had my appointment with my MSC on march 8th, found out my MSC didnt file my claims or request my C&P exams dates until March 20. Its been over a month and I'm Still waiting to get my C&P exams scheduled. So frustrating.

That's insane, when my msc contacted me I had appointments scheduled 3 days later. I'm sorry that's taking so long.

That is not acceptable service from the MSC. The timeline I received stated that the MSC has 5 days to submit your claims. I'm sorry you are already going through so much health wise and now this added stress. Have you completed VA Form 526EZ?

Mental Health was completed. It went well and DBQ was uploaded into TOL the same day.

Correction: An MSC has 8 days to determine claimed medical conditions. I do not believe this timeline is flexible but the 32 days after to schedule and complete VA exams is.

Well, I was referred to MEB on 10 May 2023. I didn't get started till September 2023 because they couldn't figure out how to start the process or decide who was going to give me a permanent 3 on my profile. My formal hearing to PEB has been scheduled for 24 September 2024. So, unless i can get a favorable outcome from the informal PEB rebuttal has been a very very long endeavor. And to think, I had submitted my retirement packet for review on 8 May.

21 Dec 23 - Code 37 applied
9 Feb 24 - NARSUM sent to AFPC
23 Feb 24 - "Proceed with full MEB"/FL-4 Notification
22 Mar 24 - Initial contact with MSC/signed and submitted VA Forms 526EZ and 686c/VA claim is in "collecting stage"
5 Apr 24 - General medical exam
12 Apr 24 - Mental Health exam
16 Apr 24 - Audio exam
8 May 24 - Vision exam
30 May 24 - All DBQs uploaded to Tricare Online/VA claim is in "decision stage"

I highly recommend checking Tricare Online and contacting whoever did you exam if the DBQs aren't uploaded within a week tops. The mental health and audio exam DBQs were uploaded within 24 hours. Audio was next within a few days. However, the head-to-toe general exam took forever! Why? Because the radiologist tech was taking a personal call through their headphones while conducting my x-rays and missed three requested images on the last page. I had to call the Optum Serve location I went to and their customer service several times for them to figure out what was missing. First, they were missing my sleep study results. That was an easy fix since I have a great MSC and they sent it the same day. Next, and thankfully the last problem, was the missing x-rays. I completed those this past week and had to call again several times back and forth to have customer service look in the correct spot of their database for the x-rays.

Be the squeaky wheel!

Let me guess, OPTUM SERVE San Antonio? I had the same sleep study issue and finally got that sent by the sleep study place today

Unfortunately, yes. The front desk staff were helpful. It was the next step between them and the VA that was causing the problems. I am still not a fan of the x-ray technician who also does not keep her equipment or office clean.

I had Optum and had similar issues getting my head to toe loaded it took awhile and a personal fax to the provider to make contact to get things figured out and uploaded. Optum stated the email and request documents every 7 days from exam date but can’t make further contact, so the member has to reach out further
