Thinking about paint protection for my new car in Dubai, is it really necessary?

So I picked up a new car about three weeks ago and honestly I am still in that phase where every tiny scratch or mark on the road makes me nervous. A friend who has been living in Dubai for a few years told me that paint protection here is not just a luxury thing but actually makes a lot of practical sense because of the sand, dust storms, and intense sun that basically attack your car finish all year round.
