VA Claim Closed but PEB number says my case is back with VA

Hi all, been reading a ton of info on the order/ process of how the PEB generally goes. I am slightly confused/ feel info sometimes conflicts, which is understandable as seems everyone’s case is different. I am curious because on the VA website my case was closed 20 Dec 2023, but when I called PEB line I got someone to answer yesterday (16 JAN 2024) and they said my case was sent to VA on 12 JAN 24. I am wondering what stage this means I am in or if this means there could be a problem? If someone knows what stage could they give an estimate of time frame from here. I know everyone’s looking for the same thing for different reasons but super stressed about signing a new lease in a city alone if I am going to need to break it. Thanks all! Any info is welcome!

After the VA claim closes the PEB gets your package back. For whatever reason they then turn around and resend it to the VA to get the DOD rating for ONLY your referred conditions (The stuff on your NARSUM that is disqualifiying you for service). What I was told by the PEB (take it with a grain of salt bc timelines never seem to be accurate in this process) is that this is a quick turn around because the ratings are done they just need to confirm the DOD portion and then you get thrown into QA.

This is the same process I had. You should be able to call the PEB in a week or two to verify VA sent ratings to PEB and you've entered QA stage at PEB.

My IDES attorney mentioned the VA has been rating people in parallel with the PEB process. It used to be you would not even be looked at by the VA until you were found UNFIT by the PEB and they requested your VA ratings be done and returned to them.

05DEC VA ratings closed, claim received via email by request
19DEC found unfit (PEB requested my ratings from VA)
28DEC proposed ratings received from VA
02JAN Entered QA waiting period at PEB
