What unifrom do you wear to a Formal PEB Hearing?

I know this might sound like a strange question is an Army Soldier going before the Formal PEB Board required to wear the ASU (new Service Dress Blue) uniform or the ACU (digital fatigues)?

I ask this because the older Class A (Green Dress) uniform is officially not authorized to wear as of the September 30th, 2014, aka. end of the fourth quarter FY14.

My case has just been sent up to the DRAS in Seattle for a rating, and if needed I will request a Formal Hearing in person, which will take place at Fort Gordon, GA. I believe.

If the ASU is the uniform required, I will have to get my unit Supply Sergeant to order me one ASAP. Being National Guard, we don't get a clothing allowance, instead the Guard is "supposed" to issue us the uniform, and for many in the unit they have, just not me so far.

According to my PEBLO the DRAS process takes 4 - 6 months. And I don't think I should have to show up in the wrong uniform and have that held against me when I'm fighting for the proper rating. I'll be damned if I'm going to drop a few hundred dollars out of my pocket so the Guard doesn't have to do their job.

So what is the uniform of the day at an Army Formal PEB Hearing?

Thanks all.

You are supposed to wear PT bottoms with left foot wearing dress shoes and right wearing boots and you need to have your left foot wearing a right foot shoe and your right wearing a left foot shoe, for a top you should have ACU on but with no undershirt and not zipped or Velcroed. Head gear is optional since it is formal,I recommend ACH with NVGs attached and chin strap undone. You are bound to get 100% rating for just being crazy, even if you didn't claim it.

On a serious note I would say where your ACU because they can't make you wear somthing you don't have. Talk to your PEBLO and attorny they know what to do.

Soccer, swing and a miss.... If I am supposed to wear the ASU (Dress) I will, and it will be bought and paid for by my National Guard unit. The same unit that's been jerking me around since I was injured. But thanks for trying out, and with some practice you might be good to go next season...

PS. I'm an Infantry Sniper, so they already certified me crazy a while back.:D

IMO, just because it is in its name, I would dress formal. But, I think yes, I would seek out legal opinion on this situation before, and have both options ready to go.

The directions from your lawyer should tell you what the uniform is. My FPEB was in NOV last year and it was specified as ACUs.

ACUs- at least over the past ten years or so.

OK, ACU's it is, if I have to get to that point. Pity, I was hoping for a reason to be issued a set of Dress Blues. Considering all the hassles, lies, all around BS my Command and OTSS has put me through over the last year I should still ask for one on principle, but why give them a chance to ignore the request. Back to more important battles.

Since you are guard... don't waste time with the ASUs... there is a memo from NGB requiring turn in of the ASU upon separation... that is how broke they are. They will launder your stuff and give it to another dude. I didn't get mine on my way out because of that, plus already had to have them issued for my tech job. We wore them every Monday. I got to keep that issue because it was a one for one exchange on my greens. I would stick with ACUs
