Looking for a CRSC Estimate

I was medically retired at 13 years 7 months with 100%VA as an Army SSG.

Hi-3: $4336.90 (I think) DFAS shows 2053 gross pay and 4,200.74 waived?

Im not sure what DOD disability is.. I was told 60% Army during PEB..

I was in for 13 years 7 months all active duty.

I am 100% through the VA , 4,200.74 total with wife and 2 dependents under 18

I just got my approval in Iperms, approved for 70% CRSC

To the best of my knowledge I do not qualify for anything else, didnt take REDUX.

Thank you

Hello,

$2053 gross retired pay is not 60% of 4336.90. It is 60% of 3421.67

What is your precise DoD (Army) disability percentage or your precise corrected high three?

Those are two of the most important parts of the computation.

Ron

Added: The DoD percentage is on your retirement orders.

I just looked it is 50%. On the 2869 Havg base amt is showing 3935.21. I got kind of rushed through this process and truly didnt understand a lot, my fault.

Thanks…

New info = “ just looked it is 50%. On the 2869 Havg base amt is showing 3935.21.”

ESTIMATE:

A. 2053/50% = 4106 contemporary high three after COLA
B. 13.58 yrs AD x 2.5% =33.95% longevity multiplier NOTE: 2% is used for blended retirement
C. 4106 x 33.95% = 1393.99 longevity portion of retired pay, a CRSC ceiling
D. Your CRSC based on the info you provided is the lesser of 1393.99
OR
the amount in the VA comp tables for 70% with applicable dependents. I will return in a few with that amount.
70% CRSC with spouse and two C/u18 = 1,907.06 + 70

E. Your CRSC per your info = 1393.99

Hello,

Your case is interesting with 50% DoD disability percentage and 70% CRSC percentage.

I have long stated the obvious, that one of the most important documents for a CRSC application is the VA award letter and accompanying narrative received thru the mail. Many CRSC recipients are not disability retirees.

Your approved CRSC percentage is higher than the DoD percentage.
DoD = rating for disabilities found unfitting for continued service.
VA = rating for all service-connected disabilities
CRSC= approved combat related disabilities by CRSC board

That said, your CRSC payment ceiling is the longevity portion of your retired pay.

Ron
