Can you tell me how do I go about getting a profile for a previous LOD I hav 12 years in the FLARNG, I posted a more lengthly version of my story in the blog. Thank you in advance.
I was an Active Duty Army Major separated on 12 July 2010 at 20% (10% Shouder & 10% Wrist) with $189k severance, combat related, from Fort Lewis PEB. They gave me 0% for Pes Planus and 0%Plantar Fasciitis. Also, after signing and concurring with the PEB, but BEFORE separation, I was diagnosed with Asthma requiring pills and inhaler, and Sleep Apnea requiring CPAP. I am waiting on my VA BDD claim to come back anyday now. My question is, once my VA Claim comes back can I pay you to do a BCMR appeal for me to get to 30% and Retirement if the Pes Planus and Plantar Fasciitis are rated by the VA? Can I also include the Asthma and Apnea which the PEB was unaware of? Since I was separated in 2010, I believe the PDBR is not available to me, correct?
I've posted this same question in several areas hoping for a reply. Sorry if you have already answered. I completed my FPEB yesterday and got DIscharge with Severance. This is fine with me. The problem is that Block 10C was marked "No". However the remarks section states "The board finds (name) medical condition was incurred in a combat zone as designated by the Secretary of Defense (NDAA 2008, Sec 1646)." I want to know if this clear statement will be enough for the VA not to recoup my severance and for my taxes to be returned? (Or does Block 10C have to be checked on the Air Force Form 356?). Thanks
I'm Air Force. I've considered both CRSC and CRDP, made some assumptions but need to do a little more research. So, I could request a FPEB and during that time, try to find a good job, and if I do then pull my FPEB request. Will the IPEB findings be reinstated? On behalf of all Veterans, THANK YOU for what you do for us.
Jason,
Thanks for the helpful website. I received my IPEB findings and am in the process of considering my next step. IPEB results were 30% for anxiety disorder and 20% Low Back Pain. That's 44 rounded to 40%. Both ratings were combat related per the IPEB findings. My dilemma is this...I will have 19 years in December. Should I string things out and request a Formal Board in hopes of extending to 20 years or accept the IPEB findings? It seems possible to strings things out, but at the same time, it has to be worthwhile to do that. You counsel would be appreciated. Tim
Hi Jason, I am currently looking for representation, so if you could email me at [email protected], I can talk to you about my case. I am currently getting a copy of my medical records. So if you could please email me so we can talk. Thank you.
Hello. I was going through the site looking for information on the MEB process, entitlements, and such. I kept finding you helping by giving advice on topics like the ones I mentioned. I was wondering if you knew anything about Air Force's process on Bipolar type 1, discovered a few weeks ago. I have just reenlisted and now I am getting told I might be on my way out. If you have any information I would be greatful to hear from you. Thank you for your time.
Tasha
Thank you for his site the only answers I seem to get is from this site.
All I hear any more is my hands are tied I liked to help but it's so and so decision you need to speak to this pne or that oneThere is so many people not taking responsibilty some times I feel like I am in a teenage drama show!!!! Or like doing the hocky pocky and turning myself around and around, around and around. Am I just being watched and laughed at like we all laugh when the dog is chasing his tail is that us.
I've inudated you with fax/email info re: case. Hope to hear back from you soon. Looks like the process is starting for my MEB/PEB. Today, I went into my civilian MH doctor and took an MMPI. I paid to have this test done as the Army will have me take one with them in three weeks. wanted an independent base-line outside the military.
Jason, I answered a question you asked me on my thread titled "Fit for Duty Evaluation, National Guard" but didn't get a followup reply from you. Please reply at your convenience. Thanks, Gomez

I just received word the other day that the Air Force Command was denying my HIV and Clinical Depression LOD's. I am appealing them. Will the VA still help me with blood test and meds even if I don't win the battle with the Air Force on these LOD's?
Jason, did I just see your post from April 15th 2008 refering to a way to get around the statute of limitions from the IRS to get my $5500 back in taxes that the DFAS should have never took out? I found out by a VA letter in 2007 or 08 filed my 1040X and got a "to bad, so sad" certified letter from the IRS. I am ready to write Senator Session about this. Can you help.
Jason,
I have received a recommendation for TDRL.
-CAT 1ost Lyme Syndrome w/ Residuals 1). Chronic Fatigue & 2). Chronic Pain.
-CAT 2:Obstructive Sleep Apnea
-Compensible %: 50
My question is the findings of CAT 1 are so vague and do not fractionally equate to the miserable health that I am in. One significant <specific> problem is the 14 month headache that has yet to go away. I still have not regained full function of the right side of my face which presents eating, drinking, and sight problems. What about the cognitive degradation with concentration and memory? Is this vague finding a blanket for all of my problems? There is also no mention of the psychological problems from what a mental health provider told me was PTSD (11 years in 18+ TDYs & 5 deployments, 2 in Iraq). Really let down considering I'm only an 11 year SSgt. (Can't provide for family on that amount for starters). Please advise as Lyme is so misunderstood.
hi.............i want to send my case to the AF review directed by DOD,,,,,,,re combat PTSD and denial of mil benefits by the PEB abd the BCNR,in March of this year,,,,,,do u have the link or adress..pls advise and TY
I just got my IPEB results back this Thursday. The board came back with the following disposition: Discharge with severance Pay at 20 percent disability rating. My condition required that I get spinal fusion surgery. This in turn led to my MEB. I 13+ years in the AF and currently stationed at DM, AZ. As any other service member I would of liked to retire. This also concerns me because it also affects my family.
I was shocked to see what the board came back with. My biggest concern is that I will loose my retirement benefits.
Is this the standard and if I decide to challenge the IFPEB what should I expect?
Would the outcome be the same, worse or better in the Formal board process?
What questions should I be asking?
