    Behavior Health Question

Sounds like she is doing her job. From what you have described, it seems your doctor doesn’t feel the need to initiate the MEB process due to your conditions not being severe enough. I think continuing to follow up with appointments and seeking improvement to continue to serve is the path your...

    Still apply for CRSC?

Should I still apply for CRSC? I’m retired and receiving CRDP. In my post retirement checklist it says to apply for CRSC. Would there be a benefit to applying for CRSC? I understand the tax exemption with combat related disabilities. What other benefits are there? Is it generally good practice...

    Reduction in Benefits Inquiry

I’m the sole one I believe. Yeah, I’m definitely trying to avoid surgery if I can. I have the same restrictions and listen to my doctors. Try and stay healthy really.

    Reduction in Benefits Inquiry

So basically the same restrictions as before surgery? I ask because I have an aortic aneurysm as well (Not the same syndrome). Currently stable at 4.5cm. However in my ratings it states that my condition is not permanent due to possibly requiring surgery. It also states because there is a...

Correlation between DoD PDRL and VA P&T

It was pretty cut and dry. My PEB ended and I dropped my packet the same day. I was like you, already prepared. My packet was complete and ready in July and my PEB ended in September, so I was locked and loaded.

Correlation between DoD PDRL and VA P&T

Ron, Thanks for the response. My PDRL was decided since I was a COAD and had to resubmit my claims at the end of my COAD period. Basically I was told to submit a BDD claim at the end of my COAD period since it was for over 1 year.

Correlation between DoD PDRL and VA P&T

Recently retired and received my ratings. My retirement is a disability retirement and placement on PDRL. I was a COAD as well. I am 100% DoD and VA with SMC-S, however my VA rating is not P&T. Is there correlation between PDRL for one unfitting condition and a VA P&T rating? I am trying to...

Suddenly Owe $100k for Severance Backpay

Also, just curious…, did you spend all of the 100k? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want. I’m just curious…

Suddenly Owe $100k for Severance Backpay

Yeah man, I say fire that pigskin and take a shot on that waiver. In my opinion I believe the 100k will need to be paid back in one way or fashion. Probably from withholding until recouped. Errors happen mistakes happen. I imagine you were also in agreement of the decision at the time of your...

At 18.5 and don't want MEB to affect benefits.

It is in your best interest to get to 20 years AFS. Whether it’s through the IDES process or not. You CAN make it to 20 either way. No matter what way you choose you will be capped at your longevity portion of DoD retirement. Disability retirement at 20 years pays the same as regular retirement...

Agree. I’ve done two of these and both times never filled in the sections you have circled in yellow. Never caused any rating issues. Just like Jon173 said, make sure you have all claims listed with the correlated medical documents and you’ll be good to go battle buddy! Any questions, just post...

    CRSC Calculator Help!

Agreed. I think the issue with The Star Act is medically retired service members are misunderstanding what this would do. From past threads individuals believe that if medically retired they would be eligible for DoD retirement calculated at 20 YOS if using the longevity method. Service members...

Computation of Disability Retired Pay and CRSC--Member Combat Vet

I’m not sure what regulations you are referencing or how you’re interpreting those regulations. The DoD disability multiplier is usually always used when calculating ones DoD disability retirement due to it being most beneficial to the service member instead of calculating for years of service...

Does CRSC even matter after 21 years of service and CRDP

It’s my understanding that those at 20 or more years AFS time you are capped at the longevity portion of your DoD pay with either CRDP or CRSC. The only difference would be if receiving CRSC it is non-taxable.

    Sanctuary, MEB and Taxes

If your issue is with the pay difference, it does not matter at 20 years AFS. At 20 years AFS you are capped at 50%, regardless of your DoD disability percentage. Due to qualifying for regular retirement you cannot be paid twice for disability. That is why you’re capped at your longevity portion...

    Mental Health Profile Help

If you’re in the IDES process it doesn’t matter, you should be available during this time. There are appointments, and timelines you need to abide by in order to complete your MEB process. Talk with your PEBLO and JAG as well as have your PEBLO contact your commander to ensure that this is being...
