Army doc in MEB/PEB

Hey ya’ll. I’m an Army Surgeon at 22 yrs who has just started the MEB process for asthma (and a host of other conditions). I was diagnosed with asthma on active duty and stable for 21 yrs until COVID on my 9th deployment. So far my impression from the intake is that as long as I have a pulse and my surgical credentials I will be found “fit” and this process is an exercise in futility. I’ve paid back my initial education time but still have 2 yrs of ADSO. Curious to see if anyone has been through or seen this situation before. I was told by the IDES team I’m more likely to find a unicorn than another doc who’s been medically discharged.

You have been given correct advise. The chances are slim to none that you will be found unfit.

Good to hear some confirmation on this. Helps put the decision to prioritize all the damn hurdles and briefings in perspective. Not gonna waste too much time and effort on a predetermined outcome.
