Hello @roys316

Estimate.

Re: "Gross retired pay on my DFAS RAS is $6082"

a. 6082/60% = 10,136.67 high three
b. 15.5 AD x 2.5% = 38.75% longevity multipler
c. 10,137 x 38.75% = 3928 longevity portion of retired pay
d. CRSC @ 60% in VA comp tables (with spouse) = 1,440.65
e. Retired pay gross, 6082 minus 3952.51 VA offset = 2129.49 residual retired pay
f. The approved CRSC rate @60% = 1440.65 is less than the longevity
g. Residual retired pay 2129.49 plus 1440.65 CRSC= 3570.14 which does not exceed the longevity amount
h. You will receive 3570.14 from DFAS each month, 1440,65--CRSC plus 2129.49-- residual retired pay

Notes: I used rounding in a few cases in this estimate. The family cat shared the keyboard with me so I will check my computation later.
Note: I assumed that the amount of your SMC was included in the VA comp amount you provided. If not, let us know.

Hello @WPmomx2

Rounding used
a. 5819/75% = 7759 high three
b. 5819 minus 4200 = 1619 residual retired pay
c. 12.416 AD x 2.5% =. 31.04% longevity multiplier
d. 7759 x 31.04% = 2408 longevity portion of retired pay
e. 2408 longevity minus 1619 residual Retired pay = 789 maximum CRSC
f. Based on the info you provided:
—DFAS will pay 1619 residual retired pay plus 789 CRSC.
—VA will pay your full VA comp
—The CRSC of 90% is not a factor in this computation since it is much higher than the longevity amount. It is different from another estimate done today that involved a lower CRSC percentage approval

g. Some rounding was used in this estimate.
