high 3 would be E5 pay 60% DOD and 80% VA and yes 50% combat related PTSD
Ok, let me give this a try.Might not be 100% accurate but should be close. I will be using 2013 military pay chart instead of trying to figure out your High 3. So an E-5 base pay for 2013 is $2707.
You were retired with 60% from DoD as an E-5 which you should be receiving approximately $1624.
You were only in for 7 years 11 months which is your length of service or LOS.
7 years 11 months x 2.5 = 17.78% remember for retirement purposes you multiply 2.5 for every year served.
So 17.78% of $2707= $481, this is the amount you would have received if you had been retired base on your LOS.
Now, you are rated 50% for combat related injuries. For CRSC purposes, they use the VA rating chart for compensation purposes. In your case, i'm using 50% with spouse and one child on the VA chart which will give you the amount of $946.
Because CRSC is based on the lesser amount of your percentage based on LOS or VA, in your case your LOS is less. (LOS=$481 compared to VA=$946) So you should be receiving about $481 for CRSC.
Like I said, this is just an estimate base on the information you provided using 2013 pay chart instead of your high 3. Hope this helps.
