CRSC Consideration and Compensation

I am a newly (medically) retired Army Officer. After 12 years and 3 months of active duty service as an Infantry Officer, I was put into the MEB/IDES process in late 2020. The Army came back with 40% for my injury, and the VA rated me at 100% permanent and total disability. I officially retired in September of 2022, and have been working full time since. I've recently learned about the CRSC system, and I am looking for some guidance on moving forward with the application.

Our out-processing group helped me with filling out some of the CRSC paperwork for three of the claimed items (GSW, tinnitus, PTSD) on my C&P exams, but I have little paperwork for medical treatment in theater. I'm looking to better understand the paperwork I should submit with my request to HRC. I know I need to send my final VA decision, all VA medical paperwork, my purple heart certificate, CIB certificate, and any medical paperwork associated with what I am claiming. Without documentation for things like tinnitus, PTSD/anxiety (besides VA paperwork), or claims outside of my GSW, is there anything I can do to bolster the paperwork that HRC reviews?

I'm also looking to better understand the process of how they make their decisions, percentages, or any other information outside of the DFAS website.

Thank you ahead of time.

I wrote a personal letter for the PTSD, and also a sworn statement from my OIC from two of my combat deployments. PTSD was denied first go around, and was approved within a month or so after I added the letters. My DA 199 stated combat related, but they wanted more. Hope this helps 1st time go for you.

Thanks, all! I’ve got the Purple Heart certificate, and the theater medical report. Does the results from the C&P psych or other doctors carry any weight for CRSC consideration?

Agree with @JMATTK - the Purple Heart will cover those three conditions without a problem. Let me know if you need assistance reviewing your packet before submitting it. And, no, C&P nor other doc BH evals carry any weight. Seriously, all you need is the PH, not wanting to belittle what you went through, but ANY combat-related award, esp the PH, is the golden ticket when it comes to CRSC.

All great info! I've also heard that you can add burn pit exposure onto a CRSC form - any recommendations at to associated paperwork with that?

First and foremost documentation that the VA rated you for conditions due to the burn pit exposure, because, we all know the VA and the wording might not be what we expected. Between that and your DD-214 showing you in the respective country per VA Presumptives list <--- link, you should be gtg. The link will open up a PDF with the current presumptives info
