Hello guys I am currently on a med board in the navy and in a few weeks from going on terminal leave and I have just now realized that I may be able to apply for CRSC due to me being in a pretty bad accident in combat about a year ago. I am not sure how to go about applying for it and also if I'm eligible since I have not been active duty for very long or if its even worth it based on calculations. Some knowledge would be extremely helpful. Thanks

1. High three base pay average: $2,171.10 / mo (Do not get BAH living on base)
2. DoD disability retirement percentage: 50%
3. Years/months of active duty: 2 Years
4. VA percentage/compensation: 100% Single
5. Projected CRSC: ??? estimated 60%
6. Qualify for another type of retirement? No
7. Blended retirement? No

Hello,

Your maximum CRSC will be High three average base pay x 5%. Example: 2200 x 5% = $110.00
Unless
The approved CRSC percentage approved by your service is LESS than that amount--the VA compensation tables are used. Even the lowest amount in the VA comp tables is more than $110 (the example)

Ron

Edited to add: BAH is unrelated to average high three. The high three is the total of the highest 36 months of base pay divided by 36. Persons having less than 36 months will have the average of the number of months served. Example: Total of 24 months AD base pay divided by 24.
