Hello, was looking for a CRSC estimate:

1. High 3 - 7827
2. DOD - 100%
3. Years 10yr 7 mo
4. VA Comp - 3492 100% P&T Spouse and 2 children
5. CRSC - 100% (Estimate)
6. Yes - Chap 61 due to conflict, Reserve Retirement after 60 years. Currently 47

Notes: It would seem CRSC is limited to around $2000 for longevity. My question would be can I get CRSC prior to age 60, since while I am also eligible for reserve retirement, I am also Chap 61 retired due to armed conflict? Thanks!

Yes, you can receive CRSC based on your CH 61 retirement before you reach the age requirement for RC retirement.

I’ll work on the estimate in a few minutes.

I assume the 10 yrs 7 mo is active duty equivalent.

Note: Residual retired pay plus CRSC cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.

Hello,

a. 7827 x 0.75 = 5870.25 retired pay
b. 5870.25 - 3492 = 2378.25 residual retired pay
c. 10.58 AD x 0.025 = 26.45% longevity multiplier
d. 7827 x 0.2645 = 2070.24 longevity portion of retired pay
e. Residual retired pay exceeds longevity portion of retired pay; therefore zero CRSC is paid.

"Members retired for disability under 10 U.S.C., Chapter 61, with less than 20 years of creditable service computed under 10 U.S.C. § 1208, and who are qualified for CRSC, on or after January 1, 2013, will have the maximum CRSC payment restrictions. The CRSC payment amount, which when combined with any remaining retired pay after VA offset, will not exceed the amount that is equal to 2½ percent of the member’s years of creditable service multiplied by the member’s retired pay base under 10 U.S.C. § 1406(b)(1) or 10 U.S.C. § 1407, whichever is applicable to the member.
