Discharged in 2010 for PD, Despite In-Service Adjustment Disorder Diagnosis

Good morning. I am new here and was looking for some feedback.

I was discharged from the Marine Corps in 2010 for a personality disorder, even though I had an in-service diagnosis of Adjustment Disorder with Depressed Mood documented before separation.
Years later, the VA rated me 100% service-connected for that same condition. So now I’ve filed with BCNR to correct the record and push for medical retirement.

The advisory opinion they sent me completely ignored the VA’s decision. It backed the original discharge and mentioned NJPs that only happened after the admin sep process was already underway, which seems like an attempt to justify the discharge after the process was in motion.

I have an attorney (Joe Galli), but I’m posting here to get any insight from vets or attorneys who’ve dealt with something similar. Any help is appreciated.
