This is my current timeline:

There are several factors that have played into the delays in my timeline, but I have learned that the "Goals" and "Averages" can be ridiculously off. If the DRAS finds any kind of clerical mistake from the VA it will delay the VA Rating Portion by AT LEAST 30 days. If the PEB finds any kind of clerical mistake from the DRAS it will cause a delay in the PEB Findings portion of AT LEAST 30 days. The VA thought process is that if there is a clerical mistake then they have 30 days to address the mistake. They will/do wait the full 30 days before looking at the requested correction and then take the 5 minutes it requires to fix said mistake and forward it back to the appropriate entity (ie DRAS or PEB).

DO NOT get sucked into the belief that any of the timelines on the IDES Dashboard or in the IDES instruction manual, mean ANYTHING. There are no consequences if they do not meet timelines and PEBLO's will tell you that they are just goals that they would "like" to achieve. In my case, I suffer from extreme anxiety related to PTSD and other psychological conditions and I have allowed the IDES system to drive me to the point of near insanity. I ask my PEBLO questions or for updates and 50% of the time get no answer, the other 50% of the time I receive a vague non-answer that only makes the process even more confusing. I have watched my "Estimated finish Date (No Appeal) change from 04/16/2017 to the current 07/08/2017 and my PEBLO cannot provide me with any kind of estimate or reason for delay of the PEB Findings.

I will say this much though.... the VA rated me at 100% in January and because I am Guard and not Active Army, I started receiving my 100% disability payments back in February. I am a GS-12 Dual Status Federal Technician and the longer the IDES process takes, the longer I get to keep my Technician job. When the IDES process is complete and I am retired, I will then start the process of Federal Retirement which will run another 3-4 months. I am starting to bank the exta $ in preparation of full retirement and after 30+ years of Active and Guard time........ I WILL BE FULLY RETIRED!!!!

Talked with my MSC who has been more helpful than my PEBLO and she filled me in on some of the delays. Apparently she works down the hall from the PEBLOs and was told that when the PEB went to the new system it supposedly crapped out on them and they were pretty much dead in the water for a week or two. DA 199s are now being processed and sent to the PEBLOs again, but they are a week or two behind. In my case the rating that the VA had originally screwed up on and the PEB requested a correction for was completed and sent to the PEB on Feb 23, PEBLO said I should get my 199 two weeks from that date (it has been 3 now)..... If my MSC is correct and they are actually two weeks behind, then I am hoping to see my 199 next week.

Mine was sent to them on Feb 18, I hope we hear from them soon! Tired of waiting!

The USA does a better job of letting soldiers know where there at through the website that tracks the progress. Other services don't have a tracker viewable by the member.

I would agree and disagree Chappy. It is great if everything is moving the way it is supposed to, but when it reveals that the Goal is 12 days, the Average is 11 days, and you are sitting at 54 or more days for a particular step in the process, it becomes more than frustrating. At one point I was almost 90 days ahead of schedule with an anticipated completion day in April and to watch it go to 43 days Behind schedule with an estimated completion date in July...... it is driving me crazy. I will lose my civilian job 30 days after I am retired on the military side and it is impossible for me to apply for new jobs without knowing when this will be over.

Sorry, just ranting a little bit.... I know that I am in better shape in the overall process than some on here and worse than others, just a good place to vent a little so the wife doesn't have to hear it again

I am in the exact same place, no worries. Need to vent as well, I have an offer, but will lose it
