Just finished my VA Exams

I’m starting to get annoyed as it’s been almost 2 months since my last exam. Before TOL went down I saw my Audio & MH DBQ’s but nothing else. Reached out to the MSC and Peblo and they both told me they don’t have anything back yet.

VES in San Diego
Here’s advice I posted a few days back:

Posting this in hopes it helps people in the future
If the VES QA process is taking too fucking long;

Write an email explaining the situation to:
[email protected] (Maximus CEO - a VES company)

Within 24 hours, you will receive a response from a case manager who will actually expedite your case, and provide you updates as often as you choose. (I chose bi-weekly).

The VES rep, Michael Arredondo will get shit done on your behalf. Within 2 weeks of emailing the CEO, my DBQs were submitted to the VA.

Other people to email:
[email protected] (VA contracting worker assigned to VES)
Two high level employees;
[email protected]
[email protected]

Is this what you did? Not trying to complicate anything in my case and definitely not trying to make anything worse lol

Yes. And I got my exams submitted within a couple weeks.
It didn’t complicate anything, it simply got them moving.

I am STILL waiting on my exams to be sent to my MSC or Peblo. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Did you email the CEO?
I did not. I was trying to give VES the benefit of the doubt. But clearly I was wrong. Can you message me what you emailed to him? (redact any personal information).

I wrote a decent guide as to what to say above. Just use that brotha! - don’t over think it!

I called VES directly and spoke to them the next day everything was uploaded

I called VES today and the woman told me that my exams were sent in April to the VA. Does that sound right? It’s June and my peblo still hasn’t received them.

I would get in contact with va because after 2-3 weeks va is supposed to send it to your bbq to peblo and that’s when you would sign and send it to Washington.

Another annoying update, My peblo & MSC are still waiting the exam reports from the VA. Not sure what’s taking so long but I guess I will chill out & continue to wait impatiently lol.

Soooo, apparently my GenMed exam was never submitted by the provider so I have a new exam scheduled for next week. not sure why it took almost 4 months for this to be made aware of as an issue with my case

That's such trash...I'm so sorry. I don't know why they can't get it together

Still awaiting my DBQ’s, so fed up at this point.

Also, my mental health provider wrote me an addendum for mental health as I am in IOP now.

On MNP under MNCC Service Request status it says:

Request type: Ret/Sep
Status: Assigned-proceessing
Problem: PDRL/TDRL
Description: Notification of processing- sailor pending PDRL, TDRL, or SEPSEV

Does this mean I was found unfit?

UPDATE!!!
August 7: Narsum signed
August 21: Unfit finding
September 15: VA claim closed on app. Peblo let me know VA 100% proposed rating.
???: Official Findings letter

So, my case is a little different. I'm Air National Guard, almost 31 years total service, prior E O5. 100%VA P&T (including 50% for "other stressor related disorders") since Oct 2019. Mental Health NARSUM received by National Guard Bureau 14 Nov 2023. IPEB found me "UNFIT" (what I wanted) but "not in the line of duty" (what I did NOT want) 10 Feb 2025. I got a JAG lawyer with Office of Disability Counsel and filed an appeal. Had the FPEB 14 June 2025. 7 days later they ruled to 'not rule', so I had to appeal their 'non-ruling'. Secretary of the Air Force-Perosnnel Center (SAF-PC) is the last stop, so I appealed there. While the appeal was pending, I did an LOD through my Wing and up to NGB because SAF-PC said they would even look at a case without an LOD attached to it (doesn't matter the ruling). NGB determined my LOD in the line of duty on 23 Oct 25. On 1 Nov 25, SAF-PC subsequently ruled me in the Line of duty and for me to be placed in the IDES process. 29 Dec 25, MH C&P exam. 7 Jan 26, Audio C&P exam. 13 Jan, Gen Medical C&P exam. 23 Feb 2026, DBQs came back, but PEBLO sat on them until I asked for them (BOTH of my PEBLOs are PCSing). Now assigned a brand new PEBLO, but met her and her civilian co-worker who's been PHENOMENAL helping me. Yesterday (10 Mar 26) man from Veterans Benefits Administration called me to explain my DBQs to him so he could file my paperwork correctly. After a long story with him, he stated he felt like he understood what he needed to do. "Don't be nervous, I know you are anxious. I been in your shoes before, I got you, you will be okay", he told me in a calming voice. I appreciated that. Today, Im still nervous, but trying to do things to not think of it.

Im GLAD I did the IDES process. I wouldn't have never had a free lawyer who knows the laws had I went LDES. Also, I wouldn't have been able to try for an increase for my mental health from 50% to 70% (for me, that's a $2,300/month difference). If my IPEB comes back not the way I want it, I can appeal again and the ODC lawyer will take it and he all but assures me that "with your case and what you already have in your files, I can easily get you to 100%". So I impatiently wait as well!!

Once I finish this process, since Im a technician, I will file for federal disability retirement and will have to wait another 6 months at least (that case should be a 'slam dunk' with all the military documents from the IDES process). So I should have at least 3 checks coming in and my state retirement check coming after I turn 55 years old (5 yrs from now will come quickly...).

Long ride and I left LOTS of stuff out, but great group of guys here with tons of experience and will lead you down the right path...
