Medboard Timeline (Walter Reed)

After calling the VA they told me a rater was assigned to my case on October 15th so if I apply the 20 day rule that would take me to October 25th to get proposed ratings and then more than likely another week until my Peblo gets back to me about them.

What number did you call to get the date that you were assigned a rater?

I should have asked for a date that my rater was assigned.

Hey there, I’m marine corps. But I have been found unfit on 9/13. What number do I call at the VA to ask if I have been assigned a rated

Also, if they tell you the classic “Your case is in the decision phase” just ask if a rater has been assigned yet and that will tell you if your case is moving along. However, what I’ve experienced along with quite a few people on this chat thread is if you’ve verified that your case has made it past the QA stage with the PEB than it’s only a matter of time before they assign a rater to your case just be patient and call the VA once a week or so to check if a rater has been assigned. My case made it past QA and was sent to the VA to get proposed ratings on Sep 7th and they just assigned a rater to it on Oct 15th. Needless to say don’t waste your time calling the VA to see if a rater has been assigned if your case hasn’t even made it past the QA stage with the PEB yet because the VA is backed up on cases.

I was told “my case is preparing to be finalized” when I called the VA…. What does that mean?

That more than likely means the Va has all the paperwork they need to make a decision and the rater has/hasn’t been assigned yet

I was told by Jeff that the Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy all gets processed at the same place for the PEB so I’d call him and see if he help you or at least point you in the right direction.

Do you have Jeff’s number by chance ?
