Medboard Timeline (Walter Reed)

Anyone get PEB findings this week? I’m super anxious, I got my VA rating back 90% (MSC said the VA mailed me a letter 09DEC, I still haven’t received it). Case closed in the VA app since 06DEC. I don’t remember it taking this long after it closed in the app for others. I’ve been found unfit since 03OCT. I know separation orders will take a minute to generate, I just want to accept my findings already. I’m getting extremely flustered dealing with this.
Not yet, I had heard through the grapevine that the PEB "stood down" for Christmas/New Years on Dec 21 until Jan 6, so no processing during that time.

Hi all, I'm not sure where else to go.. my PEBLO isn't returning my emails still but didn't mention anything about being out this long after the holiday. I understand these last few weeks very few people were in the office from holidays to the snow. My VA claim closed on 03DEC and I finally just this week got the VA to email me my proposed VA rating. The communication has been so poor that I'm not even sure what I'm waiting for at this point. I see everyone posting when they got their DOD findings of unfit or not but I never received that information.. the letter is only proposed rating of 90% VA. I think this is where my case is with the PEB but I truly have no idea... The limbo is just so isolating and I've been reading on here every day hoping folks with my similar timeline get progress. Something feels off though... I've had the Navy lose my paperwork before and it's starting to feel like that again. I came into the IDES in May. My letter says first week of June so this feels very long. I will take genuinely any advice or guidance. I think I'm waiting for my results to sign them but the last thing she told me is that if the claim is closed it's now up to the DOD to decide. I'm finding she doesn't use the same phrasing as the timeline handouts we received or what people say on here so I'm struggling to understand where I am in the process.

Rough timeline for reference:
Per the proposed rating letter from VA they received my claim June 7,2024
all medical appointments completed by June 19th
Signed NARSUM Sept 5th
-complete radio silence-
October- PEBLO said status is case with VA rating officer
December- i checked VA.gov myself and saw claim closed December 3rd
-called PEBLO to ask what that meant and got vague response of "it's coming soon"
-present day anxious mess.

We have very similar timelines. My PEB case got sent up 9/13 and was accepted 9/17. My claim also closed on Dec 3rd. I I don’t have any findings still. My original timeline was supposed to have me out before the big holiday slowdown. I know people with the same timelines as us that were out before the holidays, as predicted. I think it’s just a matter of where our paperwork is in the pile, some get luckier than others. You’re not the only “anxious mess” trust me. The holidays slowed everything down a lot. My PEBLO said now that that’s over to expect the PEB to push an influx of cases to try and catch up. Said I should be hearing very very soon. I’ve been burning my leave as a way to keep my mind off of things.

Also, it’s not unusual to not get any updates from your PEBLO. I never got a fit/unfit notification from my PEBLO, or anything. Everything I know from my case is through back channel methods. Some PEBLO’s give updates as to where you are in the process, but most don’t from what I’ve seen. It sucks but that’s what these forums are for lol

So after your case close with the VA all your ratings will be sent back to the PEB to build you case file and do a final QA on all docs and concur/assign your DOD rating. This will then be sent to a 3rd PEBLO who only handles the final processing/findings section. They will give you a call to set up an appt for finding brief. I'm hearing from a bunch of different sources that there should be a large push of cases this week and next week so fingers crossed you hear something by next Friday.
I hear you on the lack of comms though. It is maddening! The only person I have been able to get any info from was my NWW rep. You are almost there! Hang in there

I'm hoping mine gets pushed into that group. My unfit came back 4 days after yours and sent to VA. Still don't have closed VA app yet or proposed ratings, but I got my fingers crossed.

Just registered today to get a general idea of where I'm at in the timeline and if there's anything I need to do. I passed back my NAVMED 6100 and IMR Request back to my PEBLO after a brief discussion with a JAG Attorney yesterday, and just waiting to what I assume is the results of the Informal PEB and whether or not I am found fit or unfit for duty.

I was originally intended to be administratively separated for CnD and had been waiting since February last year for results to come through. However, I believe because my psychiatrist had placed me in LIMDU twice, my MEB Board was initiated without my prior knowledge and overriding the AdSep.

Here's my general timeline:

Oct 24, 2024 - Referred to MEB
Oct 31, 2024 - Met with PEBLO, attended legal briefing on IDES process. Also had a brief discussion with the MSC over the phone explaining his job while in said briefing
Nov 1, 2024 - Discussed more claimed conditions besides referred condition with MSC so he can schedule appointments
Nov 12 - Dec 6, 2024 - Attended appointments through contractor (Optumerve) for claimed conditions
Jan 3, 2025 - Received NARSUM and DBQ findings from PEBLO, document concluded that case be forwarded to PEB
Jan 6, 2025 - Attended call with JAG Attorney on recommendations for findings. Concluded that there is no need for either an IMR or Rebuttal, and would be recommended a 70% rating. Found out that PABS is a good thing (Pre-existing condition Aggravated By Service)
Jan 7, 2025 - Returned signed NAVMED 6100 and IMR Request forms, concurring with MEB findings.
Jan 8, 2025 - PEBLO acknowledges that she has received paperwork and will begin preparing my case to the PEB.

I'm stuck at my unit currently without any meaningful employment and I feel extremely isolated while going through this process. I have debated whether to contact the Wounded Warrior Regiment (Marines) from WRNMMC to see if they can help me by transferring to the unit. Not only would it help me with my mental health, I figured they would be a valuable resource for preparing my transition and being conveniently close to the hospital for alternative methods of treatment for my condition. However, the website has stated that referrals are not likely to be accepted for those that have reached the PEB process.

I know this is the Navy Timeline section, but I found this relevant considering my case is centered around WRNMMC. Any advice or help would be appreciated! It took a lot of courage for me to write this as I'm extremely anxious over discussing my situation to anyone. I just want to leave...

Having been through this myself and my wife has too I can confidently say that the most important thing you can do is to focus on your health and advocate for your self if there is something wrong that needs to be fixed. I know this is very vague and cliche but its true. Maybe look to see if there are any support groups on your base for Soldiers with mental health issues. Sometimes seeing others going through similar issues can give you comfort that you are not alone and that you can get through this. It's very hard to handle this process, especially if you have mental health issues since the process itself is mentally stressful.

Any update? You think next week we'll hear something?

I talked to Jeff Wednesday. He said my findings would come in that day or this Friday. Patiently and extremely anxiously waiting today. I also got a job interview yesterday for February so I’m actually freaking out

Bro what is going on, I'm praying you hear something back today!!! The goal is to be out by the first week of February, anticipating retirement orders don't take long to come in.

I’m mildly losing my shit as the day gets closer to ending. I have to get my findings soon so I can accept and get a February separation date in time. Had leave in the system for next Mon-Fri but that’s out the window as now I have to save as much as I can for terminal so I don’t lose this job offer. I’m about to reach 4 months at the PEB, this whole process has been diabolical

I emailed this individual (below), I found her information on this site: Disability Evaluation System Counsel Program —
I was then called by a JAG within my command that was able to offer me some relief and work with my PEBLO, My PEBLO and my local JAG said I should definitely hear something back within this month. My PEBLO then sent me two emails stating this "Happy New Year- I sent email yesterday to PEB to expedite. I believe the delay could have been holiday stand down . I will call you as soon as I receive results." and the next "I am surprised not received yet- hopefully any day. It was elevated yesterday." This was on 07JAN.

I'm all the way losing my shit and I'm aggravated with how long things are taking. The holidays are OVER. This is overtly ridiculous now.

An expedite on your case? That’s awesome!!!! I’m out of Beaufort, SC so I don’t think we really have someone like that. The person who’s given me the best updates is Jeff and me harassing the VA lol

UPDATE!! Just got my findings back. Signed right away. He says it should take about a month for the message traffic to go out with DOR (dates of release) so expect 60-90 days but that the date might be within 30 days of the message traffic receipt.
