My crsc timeline and guidance

Ok sorry Ron just new to this stuff. Do I looked at my retirement orders it shows me 60% by the army 4 years 7months active duty
Yes, that is a good start.

I will need ALL the info I requested. You can get your gross retired pay from DFAS. A new DFAS RAS was published within the past 24 hours.

Please provide all the necessary info within one reply.

Hello,

Estimate:

1. All your retired pay is waived due to receipt of VA compensation.
2. 1981/0.60 = 3301.67 high three
3. 4.58 Active duty years x 0.025 = 11.45% longevity multiplier
4. 3301.67 x 0.1145 = 378.04 longevity portion of retired pay and probable CRSC.

Based on the info you provided, your current month CRSC would be 378.04

So In your experience would I get any retroactive pay ? Since I’m applying 7 years later ? And thanks allot Ron your the real mvp

Hey Ron , I called HRC
izamora03,

Based on the very limited info you provided:

Your CRSC will likely be limited to the longevity portion of your retired pay.

1. Active duty years or active duty equivalent years x 0.025 = longevity multiplier (example: 4.5 years AD x 0.025 = 11.25%)
2. High three average base pay x longevity multiplier = longevity portion of retired pay and likely CRSC (example using random number, 2500 high three x 0.1125 = 281.25 longevity portion of retired pay and potential CRSC)

Other:
--Take the gross retired pay on your DFAS RAS and divide it by the DoD disability retirement percentage = high three average base pay
--Collection of CRSC info is at ---> THIS LINK

Ron
hey Ron I got my decision letter back and I got good news it said I was approved but don’t understand the letter can you help

Hey Ron , I called HRC

hey Ron I got my decision letter back and I got good news it said I was approved but don’t understand the letter can you help
Hello,

Your CRSC was approved at 80% effective March 2014. Congratulations! Of course, based on the info you provided eariler, your CRSC payments will be the longevity portion of your retired pay.

Page two evidently is some data used by the HRC in conjunction with reviewing your application. It is not customer-friendly. I'll look at it in a few minutes and see if I can interpret it for you. The image is difficult for me to read.

Ron

if it its is approved effective march 2014 does that mean i will get back pay for the 6 year they are allowed to back pay or am i reading it wrong? and is there a way to know what 80% means as far as crsc payment?

Hello,

Per the letter, you will receive CRSC retro to March 2014.

80% does not mean you are going to receive the 80% CRSC rate. I have explained this previously.

Earlier, you reported:
1981 grosse retired pay
60% army retired (the letter page 2 confirmed this)
4 years 7 months active duty (the letter page 2 confirmed this)
100% with the VA with 2 dependents
------------------
In December, I told you:

Based on the info you provided, your current month CRSC would be 378.04
--------------------
Your CRSC cannot exceed the longevity portion of retired pay.

The retroactive payments will be a bit less than 378 due to the COLA factor added each year (or most years rather).

Ron

Addendum.

Please keep in mind that your reported info of 1981 gross retired pay on your RAS is a major factor in computing an estimate. The amount of the gross divided by the DoD percentage = high three average base pay.

The computation in your case was
1981/0.60 = 3301.67 high three average high three

The amount you reported as your gross might be incorrect since the current rate for an E3 over 4 is 2,233.50 which is much less than 3301.67. Perhaps your high three was 1981?

If the 1981 was the high three average base pay rather than the gross retired pay as you reported, the computation would be as shown below:

1. All your retired pay is waived due to receipt of VA compensation.
2. 1981 x 0.60 = 1188.60 retired pay (waived)
3. 4.58 Active duty years x 0.025 = 11.45% longevity multiplier
4. 1981 x 0.1145 = 226.82 longevity portion of retired pay and probable CRSC.

Based on my inference and this revision, your current month CRSC would be 226.82

The current rate for an E3 over 4 is 2,233.50 which is much less than 3301.67. Perhaps your high three was 1981?

Please look at your 1-31 December 2019 DFAS RAS and report the gross amount shown in the upper left column of the RAS.

Regards,
Ron

So if what you say is correct what would my CRSC payment be ? Lower ? I’m so confused but still happy I got approved for it and backpay till 2014. I have to say thank you so much for all the help Ron

And also the wait begins because only God knows how long it will take to get the retrospective pay

I am happy for you, especially about the long retro period.

If my recent assumptions are correct, your CRSC currently would be around 226.82 .

Prediction: First CRSC payment on/about 1 April for the period 1-31 March 2020.
Retroactive payment: 2-3 months from now.
